Chapter 47

Yu Yuan had a contemplative look on her face when Huo Wei returned. Huo Wei noticed this and asked, "What's wrong?"

Yu Yuan raised her head. Her eyes strayed behind him. Then she realized Huo Wei had returned alone. "Where is Dr Wen?"

"I allowed him to go back. We don't need him to send us out."

"Oh."

Huo Wei held his hand out. "Let's go home. I already told the chef to make something delicious for you."

Yu Yuan reached out her hand to hold his, and together, they walked out of the hospital. On their way, she started, "There is something..." Then she narrated everything to him. At the end, she described the woman's appearance.

As Huo Wei listened to her description, a flash appeared in his eyes.

Yu Yuan asked, "Do you know her? It seemed like she was familiar with you."

Huo Wei assented, "I know her. She's my father's wife, Yin Chuo."

Yu Yuan raised an eyebrow.  She didn't expect she'd run into her mother-in-law in this manner. Although, Yin Chuo couldn't be considered as one. Thinking about it now, that bout of ill intent made sense. For someone who tried many times to get rid of Huo Wei, it would be suspicious if she had any good feelings toward her, his wife.

"Do I need to do anything?" Although she guessed Huo Wei most likely didn't have any good feelings towards his family, she still had to ask to confirm his attitude towards them.

At this time, they had reached the car. The driver pulled open the back door. As Huo Wei guided her into the car, he replied, "You don't have to worry about her or the rest of them. They are unimportant."

"Alright."

The driver started the car and drove to the Huo Mansion from the hospital premises.

A couple of days later, the test results were out. Dr. Yu, who was absent at their last visit, barged into the  Huo mansion with the test results in hand.

Doctor Yu was an accomplished man in his 50s. Owing to his profession, he had a few more grey hairs than other people his age. At this moment, his face was flushed with excitement as he waved to the test results.

"There's good news."

"Really?" Yu Yuan asked.

Dr. Yu paused. In his excitement, he hadn't noticed someone else in the room. He glanced at Huo Wei in question.

Huo Wei did a quick introduction. "This is my wife, Yu Yuan. Yu Yuan, this is Dr. Yu. The doctor I told you is currently in charge of my treatment."

Yu Yuan nodded. Huo Wei did mention the doctor after they returned from the hospital.

She smiled in greeting. "Nice to meet you, Dr. Yu. Thank you for the care you've provided for my husband in the past."

Dr Yu subconsciously nodded. Ohh. She was his wife.

Then his eyes suddenly widened. Wait! When did this iceberg suddenly gain a wife?

His eyes scrutinized Yu Yuan, trying to determine if she was real until Huo Wei cleared his throat.

His eyes narrowed slightly at Dr Yu. "You can continue with what you were saying."

"Oh! Pardon me. Where was I? Yes! I took a look at your test results, and they were quite surprising."

"Some of your health levels, especially your blood pressure, show a minor decrease. This reduction might not sound like much, but you should know ever since you became my patient, there has never been a reduction, only increases or stability."
