Qin Huifen was startled at Yu Yuan's sudden glance. Had she detected something?

Her opponent really wasn't a simple person.

Qin Huifen thought that she had to handle this matter carefully. Although she couldn't confirm if Yu Yuan was interested in Huo Wei, Huo Wei treated her differently, and that was enough reason to take action. But she had to be careful. Yu Yuan didn't seem like an easy opponent.

Her observations of Yu Yuan didn't make her hesitate to act. If anything, it pushed her to take measures. An opponent like this couldn't be left alone.

It wasn't long before the driver arrived. As Yu Yuan got up to leave, Huo Wei suddenly stopped her, "Let's exchange numbers."

Yu Yuan was slightly surprised, but she smiled and pulled out her phone to exchange numbers.

Qin Huifen's gaze was calm as she watched on, but if one looked closely, one would detect a cold light in her eyes.

After exchanging numbers, Yu Yuan didn't linger. They bid farewell at the parking lot and went their separate ways.

Once she arrived at the underground parking lot of Starlight, Yu Yuan made to get off the car.

"Miss Yu, please wait a minute," the driver called out. He pulled out a wooden box and handed it over to Yu Yuan. "The Patriarch asked that this be handed to you."

Yu Yuan received the box in a slight daze. She felt a slight weight in her hand and looked at the box. It was obvious that the box was made of rare and expensive wood. Its body and clasp had intricate carvings as designs. It was obvious that a master designer made it.

Yu Yuan thanked the driver and got off the car.

Back in her apartment, Yu Yuan examined the box in her hands. She slightly traced the intricate carvings. Then pulled the clasp to open the box.
A faint scent drifted out of the box. It was tea.

Yu Yuan recognized the type. Narcissus Tea. This tea was a type of oolong tea grown in a specific location. It had an elegant aroma that smelt like orchids. Too bad it couldn't survive for long. The longer the age, the more precious it was.

Yu Yuan bought the box closer to examine the tea. Her pupils suddenly dilated.

If she wasn't wrong, this tea was older than 60 years. A 50-year-old Narcissus Tea once sold for $4,000 per 100g. How much would the one in her hands be worth? Tea enthusiasts would scramble to get their hands on this.

The corner of her mouth lifted. As a tea enthusiast herself, really liked this gift.

Yu Yuan decided to make a call later today to thank Huo Wei. It was still working hours. Making a call now would seem inappropriate. In the meantime, she would find a good place to store this tea, then complete her other tasks for today.

Back at the Huo Company, Huo Wei was preparing to hold a meeting with a few executives, discussing the possibility of a collaboration with Colan. A brief knock sounded on the door, and Assistant Lin entered with a file in his hand.

"President Huo, this is the file you asked for."

"Drop it."

Assistant Lin dropped the file and turned to leave but was stopped by Huo Wei's question. "Is Xiao He back?"

Xiao He was the person who drove Yu Yuan back home.

"Yes, sir," Assistant Lin replied. "He carried out your instruction as well."
Huo Wei nodded, and Assistant Lin finally excused himself.

Outside the door, Assistant Lin ran into Qin Huifen. He nodded at her in greeting and left.

Qin Huifen had come to discuss a few details before the meeting, but she happened to overhear the conversation.

Yu Yuan! Yu Yuan again! Why was Huo Wei paying so much attention to her?

She had thought that this potential collaboration would cause Huo Wei to forget Yu Yuan. After all, Huo Wei was a well-known workaholic, but it seemed that did work. According to what Assistant Lin just said, it seemed Huo Wei had given some instructions regarding that bitch. What was it? Was it a gift?

Jealousy nibbled Qin Huifen's insides, but she had to act like she didn't care. She didn't dare show any form of dissatisfaction either. Even if she worked closely with Huo Wei, there were still boundaries she couldn't cross. She couldn't even inquire about what the instruction was. She wasn't a part of Huo Wei's close circle of friends.

This was one thing that frustrated her till this moment. After all her years of work at the Huo Company, she still hadn't gotten close to Huo Wei. Everyone thought she was, but she herself knew she wasn't.

Even if Huo Wei didn't restrain her actions, he didn't allow her to get close to him. She couldn't do anything about it either.

Qin Huifen had the idea that after consistently staying by Huo Wei's side for years, he would soften and marry her even if he didn't like her.

Huo Wei needed an heir, and the Huo family couldn't be without a matriarch. While Huo Wei couldn't tolerate other women, they had worked together for a while, so at least he was familiar with her, and she was a capable woman.

Qin Huifen hoped that Huo Wei would consider this and choose her. Better her than a stranger, right? After marriage, who cared about who fell in love with who? If she birthed a son, her position would be secured. Who knows, maybe Huo Wei would fall in love with her then.

But now, a woman from nowhere appeared and was able to achieve what she hadn't been able to for years—Huo Wei's interest. The comparison angered her even more.

What could she do to eliminate this sudden threat to her goal of becoming Mrs. Huo? She had to do something without attracting attention, and she had to do it early while Huo Wei's interest was still minor.

But she couldn't be impatient either. Maybe it would fizzle out on its own. If she did something rashly, she might end up shooting herself in the foot. For now, she would observe and prepare for possible outcomes.

At this moment, it would be beneficial for her to ensure that the collaboration becomes a reality. This would elevate her position in the company and further show her worth to Huo Wei.

Thinking this way, Qin Huifen renewed her drive to make the collaboration successful.

I was a little conflicted about the description of Narcissus Tea because of the location it was grown and the fact that I didn't want to use any real locations in this novel. But Narcissus Tea is grown on Wuyi Mountain in China.
