Amelia is two years younger than Derek and still a teenager. She and her mother have had a lot of problems in recent years. Especially her mother. Amelia never met her biological father, only her stepdad. Everyone in town knew about her father's crimes, but she had no idea why everyone hated him so much and said he ruined her mom.
Because of what she has been through, she is afraid of falling in love. She thinks that she will suffer just like her mother -not in an emotional way-. She has a lot of trust issues and doesn't get close to anyone. The only guy she's close with is Derek. He is the only person she trusts and feels safe around. Derek is "her protector" since the day she was born.
