Anelise's POV :

Kenny and I quietly returned to the wall where everyone else was gathered. Mikasa immediately rushed toward me, her expression a mix of concern and relief. I couldn't help but wonder what was going through her mind, especially after the last time she had thought I was involved in a crime and needed her help to hide a body.

" He didn't do anything to you, did he ? You've been gone for far too long. Tell me if he harmed you". Mikasa said, her grip on my cheeks oddly intense.

Why is she squeezing my cheeks like this ?

Desperately seeking an escape from the situation, I glanced at Armin, silently begging for assistance. However, he seemed more interested in the surrounding scenery, oblivious to my plight. Traitor—he had done this to me twice before.

" M-Mika ! I'm fine, thanks for your concern". I stammered, feeling a hint of embarrassment at her proximity.

Mikasa nodded, seemingly reassured by my response. I couldn't help but chuckle inwardly, knowing my cheeks would remember this day.

After the mission ended, Erwin ordered a retreat to the royal capital to make some preparations. I suspected his intentions included crowning Historia as soon as possible—a move I could understand, given the increasing dissatisfaction with military rule among the population.

As soon as we arrived in the capital, I decided it was high time for Kenny and Levi to have a conversation, even if they didn't realize it yet.

" What are you doing, brat ?". Levi asked, irritation evident in his voice.

Kenny chimed in with a scoff," I can't decide if I'm being dragged by a double of Levi or a small puppy".

" Shut up, both of you". I retorted firmly.

Levi and Kenny exchanged incredulous glances.

" Izzy ! Come back ! You were supposed to see the doctor !". Armin's voice rang out in the distance.

" Later, Arly ! There are more urgent matters". I called back.

After a brisk walk of two minutes, we arrived in a room. I shoved the two of them in, quickly closed the door behind me, and positioned myself in front of it, attempting to play the role of a bodyguard—though not very convincingly.

" Armin is right; you're supposed to see a doctor. And what's with this charade ?". Levi inquired.

" It's time for you two to have a little chat. Neither of you is leaving this room until you talk. Is that clear ?". I demanded, arms crossed.

Kenny huffed," You're not serious, little wolf ?".

He really had to ask that question again, didn't he ? I thought I'd made my intentions clear earlier.

" Do I look like I'm joking ? Now, sit your asses down and talk". I ordered, pointing at the chairs.

Levi sighed, reluctantly taking a seat, and Kenny followed suit.

" I'll be waiting behind the door. Don't kill each other". I said as I closed the door behind me.

This was a conversation they needed to have with each other, and I wanted no part in it. My only hope was that they wouldn't destroy the room—or each other—in the process.

Third person POV :

" Crazy, I thought you were her Captain, and she orders you around, you rascal". Kenny remarked, a sly smirk on his face.

Levi's eyes twitched with annoyance at Kenny's comment. He braced himself for whatever Kenny had to say.

Kenny let out a sigh before casually crossing his legs and propping his feet up on the table. Levi clenched his jaw, visibly irritated by Kenny's nonchalant behavior.
