~That Saturday Morning with the Waynes~

"Demon, come with me," I called out to Damian. He's been in acting off ever since he met (Y/N) and Dick and I knew why. The kid's in love but he's oblivious as fuck... plus I want to make sure she isn't the type to use him to get to us.  I doubt it but you never know.

"What do you want Todd," Damian demanded and I tossed him my spare helmet.

"We're going for a ride, I need to pick up a few things and I know you need some paints and a new canvas," I tell him and he gives me a look but I shrug it off.

"After today we can go back to trying to kill each other. Deal?"

"Fine but I'm taking my bike," Dami demands and I just nod in agreement.

~Small Time Skip~

We arrived at the bookstore just as the delivery truck pulls up to the building.

"Want a copy of The Art of War?"

"Why do you really want to to accompany you? You never like me and I despise your existence," Damian says coldly and I sigh.

"Despite you thinking that I hate you, you're still a brother and I care about you in my own way you little shit," I snarl at him. "I want you to know that I knew you have a crush on (Y/N) but I'm worried that she's going to get you killed."

I walk into the bookstore, not sure if he decided to follow me or not. I said what I need to say and it's his choice to use thst knowledge.

"I already have The Art of War but I would like to expand my reading choices," Damian says from behind me and I smile.

"What did you have in mind," I asked him.

"What's your favorite works," he asks.

"Classics like Pride and Prejudice and Dracula."

He nods and heads off in between the shelves. I didn't mind too much since this bookstore was my usual place to go before Bruce took me in.

"Good to see you, Jason," the owner says in greeting while carrying in the new orders.

"Hey, Charlie! Let me help you with that," I offered but the old man just waves me off with a chuckle.

"I maybe an old man but I'm still as capable of whipping Batman's ass in a fight," Charlie says while placing the stacks of books down on the counter. I caught a glimpse of his tattoo and a thought clicked.

"Hey Charlie, I've never noticed this but what's with the tattoo? Were you part of a gang or something," I asked casually but the old book seller just chuckled.

"Nah, I served at my old camp from seven years old to nineteen years old before retiring. Each tally marks your years at camp, as you can see here I've been with that camp for sixteen years," he says and shows me his tattoo. "The camp is part Special Ops, part year round camp, and part safe haven if that makes sense."

"That symbol here is the mark of Mars," he continues to explain just as Damian returns with a small bundle of books.

"Can you tell me more about this camp," I ask, hoping to get more answers to figure out (Y/N) (L/N) to see if she's a threat. But Charlie shook his head.

"I can't tell you anymore than what I already told you, Jason. But what I can tell you is this, anyone that has a similar tattoo deserves the same level of respect as a military officer or a member of the Justice League."

"Shame because my brother's crush has the same tattoo but she has a lyre," I tell the old man much to Damian's annoyance.

"{Ah! A child of Apollo,} then gift her with music, poetry, or a medical book. My late wife had that mark," Charlie advised before ringing up Damian's purchases and handing me my new orders.

"Do you have anything like that," Damian asks with a slight blush that only years of training with Batman with notice.

"Yep and you're in luck since this book copy is in Latin and Greek since there's a chance that she has really bad dyslexia. Most of us at this camp have dyslexia and ADHD to various degrees of severity," Charlie said as pulls out a an old book that's lightly covered in dust. He blows on the cover before handing it to Damian, "This on is on the house."

I paid for our books and we head out to the art supply store that next to the Music Store but we stop when we hear beautiful singing.
