KATHERINE'S POV.
"Are you really not going to give any deets?" Carolina had a look of slight disbelief on her face.
I just rolled my eyes at her dramatic stance and actions, ignoring her existence, or rather trying to. It's hard to ignore someone like Carolina. The woman has a profound way of making a mark on someone and a very elegant presence but right now, it was an annoying presence.
"You know, I really thought that we were close but I guess I was wrong." Her voice was low almost close to a whisper.
"No." I immediately said giving her a hard look.
I know what she was trying to do and I was in no mood for it to even work on me.
"Whatever it is you are doing will not work on me." I glared at her and held her in place with my eyes
"Wow." She let out an amused sigh and leaned back a little.
"Pregnancy does make one moody." She completed with a stupid smirk on her face.
"Soooooo...." She dragged.
I tired to ignored her but I could see her eyes going over to the men whose presence was very much noticed.
Those men being one of the reasons for my cranky mood but their boss being the main reason."They keep staring at us. Well at you." She looked over at the hard faced men settled in my Cafe.
"I know." I let out a frustrated sigh.
My annoying husband had thought it appropriate to get me baby sitters. No matter how much I tried to persuade him I needed none. The man was the most stubborn and hard headed person I have ever met and I'm friends with Carolina, the most stubborn person on the planet... Well that's what I thought until I met him.
"They're hot." Carolina leaned her jaw against her interlocked fingers as she looked at the men with interest.
Well....she was checking them out. And I'm not surprised. It's Carolina.
"Want me to get them off your back." Carolina had a mischievous smile on her face.
The woman would get her self in trouble.
When does she ever not."Knock yourself out Lina."

THIRD PERSON POV.
"We thought we were going to see your bride today, Caspian." A middle aged man with dark raven hair clad in a black striped cream suit said as he slowly twirled the glass of wine in his hands.
Attention turned to Martins. But he didn't just get the attention of anyone. He got his attention.
"She's part of the family. She should be at a family gathering." Martins let out a chuckle as he took a sip of his wine.
It was his life duty to poke at his step nephew. He couldn't see through him and that had never settled with him. He has never been able to see through his actions and if he had ever managed to, the results of that action would have long taken place.
"Why should my wife's attendance be of any concern to you Martin?"
To anyone it might seem to be an ordinary question but the people in the room knew better and could hear the warning in his voice.
But Martins had never been one to back down even though he knew well of his step nephew's profund reputation.
"She's your wife Caspian. She's like a daughter to me."
A growl immediately followed his words. Caspian dropped his glass and leaned forward but a hand rested on his arm holding him.
"Caspian." Elizabeth called to her son softly before he did something crazy.
"You can do whatever it is you want later but not here. I put a lot of effort into this party." She silently warned her son.
Elizabeth couldn't care less what happens to Martins, as the man was always asking for it, but she wanted the party to go well.
Caspian looked at his mother and his eyes softened a little. Something a lot of people wouldn't notice.
"Fine."
He turned to Martins.
"If you start taking interest in my life Martins, I'll have to return the courtesy."
Martins understood his nephew's threat, enough for him to take a step back and back down.
One thing Matins knew for sure was that he didn't want Caspian peeking into his life. Although he was aware that Caspian knew a lot of things about him, he also knew he didn't care enough to interfere in his life. And that let him do as he pleases. One of the perks of being a Montgomery.
"Your new daughter-in-law is quite different. Wouldn't you say. "
Elizabeth knew what the woman was going on about. But she should know better than try to pry information about her son's married life from her. A lot of people have been trying to do so ever since Caspian got remarried.
Everyone was curious about Caspian's new wife. Elizabeth was too. Elizabeth had grown up in a wealthy and powerful family and she had married into a more powerful family.
One of the gift she was proud, of was her knowing how to effectively read people —a skill her first son had inherited —including her cold-hearted, iced son. She could see through people and in her type of society it was hard to see real people.Elizabeth couldn't quite describe it but Katherine was simple. The young woman spoke her mind and acted as herself. Something Elizabeth wasn't used to. The woman had been shockingly honest with her words. At first it startled Elizabeth, She was used to finding out the truth instead of being told the truth; but then she felt like a breath of fresh air
Elizabeth was aware of who Melinda Lane was. She had seen her here and there. Elizabeth could smell the greed in her the first time saw her. The woman was a thirsty woman who seeked more. But her second daughter was different.
Elizabeth although haven't had the opportunity to get close to her son's wife, she couldn't wait for it. She wanted to know more of the girl.
"Very different if you ask me. She doesn't really seem like someone Caspian would pay attention to." The blonde woman said, earning nods from the other high end women.
"And I know her mother and Sister. Bunch of gold digging bitches."
The insult did to earn a laugh from the other women but it didn't last long."You should remember that the people you are talking about are our in-laws. Caspian's in-laws." Elizabeth's voice was as soft as it usually is but everyone could feel the weight of it.
Elizabeth was a powerful woman who knows how to use her power. The woman stopped talking while some chuckled awkwardly and some shut themselves up by drowning down their drinks.
Everyone was indeed curious about Caspian's new wife.
