ONE DAY BEFORE THE FIELD TRIP

"Have you packed?!" Dash immediately yelled when you answered her phone call.

You laughed. "Somewhat. I have the important stuff, just not my outfits."

"How many bags do you have?" You looked in the corner of the room where your suitcase was.

"Three, technically. One is going to be clothes, one is one of those pre-made, Walmart bedding bags, and the other is this bathroom-carrying thing. I don't know the name in English."

"Lemme see it." You flipped your camera.

"That's a caddy."

This word was extremely unfamiliar. "Yeah, sure."

"But y'know the girls and guys have... We're separated by gender, no one has their own bathroom. You're aware of that, right?"

"Yeah. That's why I made sure I can have all my stuff in one place." You flipped the camera back. "What about you?"

"I just have my duffel bag." She flipped her camera and showed the blue and green carrier.

"...How?" You tried your best to be minimalistic but still had to resort to three bags.

"I stuffed everything, and there's a little pocket inside, so that's where my soap, toothbrush, and toothpaste are."

"No lotion?"

"I'll just use yours." She laughed as your expression faltered. You then looked at the top of your phone when you got a notification.

お母さん: It's tomorrow, right? Your tomorrow

"What are you doing?" Dash noticed your silence.

"My mom's texting me."

"Oh! Tell her I said 'Hi!'"

お母さん: Hello 😊
お母さん: Send me a picture of her

"She said 'Hello' with a smiley face emoji." Dash chuckled.

"What are you guys talking about?"

You scrolled through your camera roll to find a photo of Dash, "She's just asking me how I'm doing. She knows I get nervous really easily."

She gently hummed. "Well, hopefully we get tents together."

"I really doubt it."

"Why?! It's not like it's obvious we're dating, and they're not gonna separate us by gender. We're the same one."

"...I just doubt it. Too good to be true." She reprimand you for so much gloom.

THE NEXT DAY
RIDING THE BUS

You jumped when Twilight suddenly screamed behind you. While she had been sporadically mumbling the entire bus ride, you had gotten used to the low volume and expected nothing more out of it. Lifting your head from Dash's shoulder - you were taking a nap - she turned around as she got on her knees and looked over the seat.

"We can't stop, silly," Pinkie Pie laughed. "We're not there yet."

i still can't believe there's a talking dog just casually sitting behind me. he has his own seat  —His name was Spike, but you really couldn't care less. You weren't the biggest fan of canines, but this aversion shouldn't be confused with fear. You just didn't like them.

Sunset gently spoke, "Are you okay, Twilight? You've been on edge for a while now."

"I'm fine."

we're getting close   —You ignored the rest of the conversation as you looked out the window. The road signs indicated a mile left.

Coincidentally, Luna and Celestia announced this not a minute later, also thanking everyone for helping raise the money for the trip. Sitting up to stretch, you yelped when Dash poked your exposed stomach.

"Keep playing with me," you point an accusing finger. She laughed.

"You excited?"

"...Yeah, I suppose. I made sure to finish all my assignments since wifi is limited and I'll only have a day before Monday." If people wanted to charge their devices, there was a designated area that was locked from 10 PM to 6 AM.

However, there was no form of signal unless one had unlimited data. You did but you doubted this was popular among your peers, but, besides, you were going to be so deep in the forest that no towers could reach you with good reception anyway.

Luna stood up when the bus came to a stop after arriving at the camp. "Everyone please get up front to back, left to right! I trust that as juniors, you all do not need to be individually dismissed." You and Dash were in seat 14: not first but not last. She grabbed your hand when she got up to make sure you stayed behind her.

"Oh, [Your name]!" Rarity called as you and Dash walked out. She was ahead of you two.

Bulk Biceps was retrieving the girl's several bags from under the bus. "Did you like your romper? Have you tried it on?"

You nod. "It fits my legs really nicely. I don't have to keep moving the ankles down like some of my pants. I packed it, but I'll wear it when it won't be... ruined by nature, you know?"

She smiled, "Yeah. Don't feel rushed."

"This place is so beautiful..." Fluttershy muttered to herself as she walked down the miniature stairs of the bus. Twilight, Spike, and Sunset Shimmer were behind her.

Dash snickered as you stepped behind her. "You're scared of dogs?"

"No, I just don't like them."

"Because they're big and scawy?" She hand you two of your belongings with a sneering smile. Dash held your bedding in her free hand.

"Because... they're dogs. I just don't like them."
