Author's Note » i get the feeling Wallflower is shorter than 5'6 but that's just my opinion ¯\_(ツ)_/¯bro i just read one of my chapters as a reader for the first time and to separate the reader's thoughts and actual story text, i do two dashes together (- - without the space) but it only shows up as - 😐

sobbingYou smiled at your phone, but because you were approaching the yearbook room, you locked the device and slid it into your pocket. Seeing Wallflower sitting at a desktop in the back of the room, she and Sunset turned around at the sound of the door opening. You waved to the latter but kept your attention on the former.
"What's up?" Sunset still thought you were here for her.
"Nothing. I'm here for Wallflower."
Her eyebrows furrowed. "Who?"
"Wallflower." You stood beside the girl, her expression utterly exasperated. Sunset's eyes widened.
"Oh. ...Hey!" Wallflower only waved. Watching her sign out of the computer, she told you that you could follow her to the garden.
"Wait, who's taking Rainbow Dash home?" Sunset called before you walked too far away.
"Be right back—" You jogged, peeking your head into the room. "Applejack is."
"Oh, okay. Have a good day!" You waved.
"By the way," Wallflower started, "I don't know if I ever said 'Thanks,' but.. thank you. I didn't think anyone else cared about the garden."
"Well, I wouldn't call myself a nature enthusiast," you smiled. "And I won't lie to you: I'm really only here for CAS, but this was the most entertaining of my options. I have my own farm."
"Really?" You nod. "What do you grow?"
"Rice and flowers. I just think the flowers are pretty, but they're good for health. They balance the.. oxygen in my house, but I eat the rice."
That was it once Wallflower nod in acknowledgment along with a soft 'cool', but you didn't mind as you've had your fair share of awkward behavior. You weren't the best with people last year, but, to be fair, that hasn't changed much this year. You're more willing to do it, but if it weren't for Dash, you'd still be hiding in the library and avoiding social interaction.
Not that you still don't, but it's gotten better.
You two made it to the parking lot but didn't go into the forest just yet. Wallflower was silent in thought for a few seconds. "...I actually need help rebuilding the bird feeder if you wanna help?"
You nod. "We can do whatever you need. Ideally, I'd like to be here for two hours. That'll keep me on track."
"..On track for what?" You two stopped by a shed to get the instrument.
"An IB Diploma student has to have 150 hours of CAS, 50 in each part of it: Creativity, Activity, and Service. This'll count for creativity and activity, so if I get 2 more hours, I'll have about 43 hours across the board; I did a lot of volunteering at the junior highs this year so that was all three categories."
Wallflower nod again, grabbing a box. "Sounds.. stressful."
"I don't think it's that bad. For people who didn't keep track of dates, maybe, but I'm pretty organized." You grabbed the various garden equipment that was sitting in a bucket before Wallflower kicked the door shut.
"You seem like the type—organized."
You smiled, "Is that a good thing?"
"Yeah. You're really.. social too."
"Oh, that's just a front," you softly laughed. "I'm only social when I have to be."
"At least you get to choose." Your eyebrows shortly furrowed, but judging by Wallflower's tone, the innuendo was personal. You didn't pry.
"...You did a really nice job," you compliment once you two made it to the forest. "I'm assuming this was all dead when you found it."
At this, Wallflower smiled. "Yeah...! I had to buy and do everything myself, I'm really proud. Principal Celestia said the school purposely let go of the garden some years ago and it's not in the funds anymore."
jeez —Despite your inherited wealth, you can identify when something is expensive and haven't let money get to your head, at least you hope. No one is ever really truly sure how they appear to other people. "You really love plants."
"I think they're the one thing I can understand.. and relate to." Wallflower opened the bird feeder box and took out all of the parts.
"Understandable." If you had to guess, you would suggest their similarities derived from under-appreciation.
Plants are constantly stepped on and forgotten, especially the fact that they are alive. While they lack a nervous system to feel real pain, considering you were Wallflower's tentmate for 7 days, you could say safely the former applied to her.
However, you have recognized that you are somewhat special to Wallflower and she doesn't clump you with the rest of CHS. She didn't go to many of the activities at Camp Everfree, and you rarely saw her out of the tent, but she would sometimes ask if you were going to an event and you could see the temptation in her expression when you were.
Albeit, she didn't always go if you were attending, but the few times she did, your presence made a small difference. At the camp, Wallflower was regularly close enough to be in your line of sight - you would wave every time you noticed her - but since Dash was also always with you, she rarely intervened. In fact, Wallflower often waited until you were alone to have small means of conversation. Whenever Dash started walking back from wherever she went, she would leave.
