Song recommendation for this chapter: Let Go

Seokjin POV

He had earlier on messaged Jungkook, a reminder of their dinner date at his house. He had cook aplenty of food. A full course meals, with prawn salad as starters, medium rare steak for main course and chocolate fudge as desserts. He also placed the strawberry he received from his uncle on top of the chocolate fudge. Well, the table setting seems perfect.

Now he just need to shower and change his clothes. For this farewell dinner, he chose a casual outfit, a simple white T-shirt and blue jeans. He will try his best to keep the atmosphere light. Though its not going to be easy, its something he had to do. Otherwise, they can't even salvage their friendship.

Jungkook POV

He knew what this dinner all about. This is not just a simple enlistment farewell. It meant something more. He had confide in with some of the members pertaining to this dinner, and they advised him to come in with an open mind, regardless of whats the outcome.

Along the way, he bought the flowers and chocolate which Hyung likes. He stood outside Hyung's apartment and instead of pressing the passcode, he ring the bell. Shortly after, Seokjin welcomed him with a smile and a hug. The comforting smile, that always feels like home. How he realized it a little too late.

Seokjin's Apartment...

Seokjin: "Aww... you remembered my favourite!"

JK: "Of course Hyung. Is there a vase that I can place it?"

Seokjin: "Well, look around. I'm sure there's empty vase somewhere.. While you search, I'll just bring some wine over ok."

JK: "Hyung! Did you just cook all my favourite food?"

Seokjin: "I thought you like all kinds of food?"

JK: "Hahas. As long as you cook, its my favourite!"

Seokjin: "Free food you mean?"

JK: "Of course. I know I'm not the host. But I'm salivating right now."

Seokjin: "Just dig in."

They starts conversing on their daily encounters while eating, and just like before, their flow of conversation smoothly change from one topic to another. There was no awkwardness between them, just them, being the goofy Jungkook and Seokjin, making jokes here and there. Its been awhile since there's innocent laughter filling up the room. When they're done eating, they naturally carried their plates and starts cleaning. Everything seems well for now.

Till, the dining table left with just two half-filled wine glass. The moment they both dread. The impending end of an ambiguous relationship between them.

Seokjin: "Jk-ah, Hyung enlisting in two days time."

JK: "I'm going to miss you Hyung."

Seokjin: "I know. Hyung going to miss your nonsense too."

JK: "Hey! Rude! Hhahas!"

Seokjin: "Hahas.. Stop making me laugh. Anyway make sure you listen to your other Hyungs ok."

JK: "I will Hyung. Make sure you take care of yourself over there ok. Don't let them take advantage of you Hyung."

Seokjin: "If they ever did, what will you do?"

JK: "Since I can't come over, I will post in social media."

Seokjin: "I know you're joking. But please don't ok."

JK: "I will never need to do that cause I know you will do fine Hyung."

Seokjin: "Awww... Of course. Can you trust Hyung one more time JK?"

JK: "Trust on..?"

Seokjin: "Whatever that I'm going to say next"

JK: "I know what you're going to say. I'm... ready..."

Seokjin: "Hear me out first ok. When I'm done, the floor is yours. Ok?"

JK: "Sure Hyung.."

Seokjin (taking a deep breath): "Well.. Here it goes...I've always like you a little more Jungkook. There was time where I was confused whether I like you as a brother, friend or a potential lover. I mean we're band mate after all, so we always stick together. But then I realised I liked you as a potential lover, with how I was always get nervous and my heartbeats starts going crazy whenever I see you. Despite that, I knew we have different identity, as such I maintain a certain boundaries. It had never occurred to me of crossing that boundary, in fear of jeopardizing our friendship. Only recently, I took a leap of faith, but maybe I was too new to this, and somehow we got everyone tangled with whatever we have. I'm sorry, if I've ever imposed anything on you, making you feel rushed. And I feel like we should take a break from this ambiguous relationship, cause I don't think we're ready and I value our friendship more than ever. I'm sorry Jungkook-ah..."

JK: "Thank you Hyung. This meant a lot to me. During this period, I've also came to be aware of my own emotions, people around me and my insecurities. Like you Hyung, I was also confused of my feelings towards you. You have never imposed anything to me Hyung, rather, I took you for granted and I'm truly sorry for that. I never once took regard of your feelings, cause I know at the back of my mind, you always dote on me no matter what. Even our last phone-call, you first asked me how am I, when I was clearly in the wrong. You know, you're one of the most level-headed person I've met and I strive to be like you. I know today ends our ambiguous relationship, but some day... maybe not now... some day in future, if we have figured out, would you be open to give it a try again Hyung?"

Seokjin: "When the time comes, we'll see how k."

JK: "I'm going to miss you, Hyung."

Seokjin: "I know..."
