Trust

Trust doesn't come so easily to me anymore,
I've been hurt by a lot of those I trusted,
But the worst was the one I loved most,
Trust made me feel safe,
It made me feel free,
But now it feels like I'm a white dove captured in a cage waiting for the moment they let me be free,
I'm caged metaphorically in my own thoughts, my own brain.
Trust goes a long way,
Be careful who you break,
You never know what kind of risk you take.
