SaneGiyuu: Wind and Water don't get along

PART 21: KOCHO TO THE RESCUE

"Water Breathing, Eleventh Form: Dead Calm."

Sanemi saw Giyuu who was standing right in front of him now.
Just when Douma released the bullets, Giyuu had come in between.

Giyuu created a calm barrier for the both of them. Even if only for a few seconds, the calm barrier protected Giyuu and Sanemi from all the bullets. Things were silent, moving slowly as all Douma's attacks hit the barrier and fell down.

"Tomioka..."
Sanemi stared at Giyuu.

Giyuu turns back as he began-

"You said you'll be my friend, right? Friends help each other in such situations."
Giyuu looked at Sanemi in a dull but caring way.

Somehow, Sanemi felt that Giyuu was a little different. He still, was the same old Giyuu, always dull and uninterested, but something changed about him. He didn't know what.

The Barrier disappeared, and Douma was ready to fight again.

With the help of the Blood Demon Art, Douma released two big ice giants, both coming towards Sanemi and Giyuu.

The ice giants came with great force and dragged Giyuu and Sanemi together with it, pinning them to a tree.

People rarely walked pass that road, and it was night time. Therefore, it was just three of them there, one demon and two Hashiras.

Both struggled to get out, but couldn't.

"Ugh!! LET ME OUT! DAMMIT!!"
Sanemi shouted.

"Sigh.... It's no use Shinazugawa-San. You can break through the ice, perhaps you could do it."

Giyuu looked at Sanemi with some hope.

"Breaking through the ice isn't as easy as I thought. It needs a lot of energy.
I relaxed and gathered some, to break through. I think I can do it only once."

Said Sanemi.

"Talking to each other again? Sigh... Talk to me, please? You should stop trying at this point. You won't get out."

Douma came closer to Giyuu and Sanemi, licking his lips.

"So... Today I will be eating two Hashiras. It's a feast today!"

Douma clapped his hands as he laughed.

"I still feel a little disappointed though, I wish I could eat some delicious women but....Men will do too!"

Douma smiled cheerfully at them.

"Fuck you!"
Said Sanemi.

"You can't! You're trapped, don't you see?"

Sanemi's eyes widen.

"Let's begin to ea-"

Douma stopped abruptly as a sword rested on his shoulder from behind.

"Huh?"
Douma seemed puzzled. He looks back to find a Hashira behind him.

"Ara Ara~"

A day before, back in the Demon Slayer Headquarters:

Kocho Shinobu has been called for a meeting with Oyakata-sama.

"Shinobu Kocho."
Master said, calmly.

"Yes master?"
Said Shinobu.

"I have a new mission for you."

"What is it?"

"Leave for Kyoto, today. Check all the places. My crow has informed me about an Uppermoon demon there. I know you're capable of doing it."
Said master.

"But master..."
Shinobu paused.

"Yes?"

"Didn't Tomioka-San and Shinazugawa-San go to Kyoto too?"

"Shinazugawa and Tomioka are leaving tomorrow. Your mission might be long."

"Okay master."

Oyakata-sama smiled at her.

Shinobu left.
