Itachi did not want to bore any more hesitation to take the Fragrance's life. He closed his eyes as he fended off Kakashi's words and strode off, not wanting to converse anymore with him. It was also better he left before their small altercation would break into a fight; he wasn't in the mood for one.

He let out a heavy breath as he adjusted his stressed expression to a neutral and expressionless one, before he headed into the shrine where the Fragrance went in to pray.

He spotted her in front of some sort of ancestry altars, surrounded by wildflowers and weeds. She was kneeling down with incense sticks in her hands, her eyes were closed, praying. He sighed as he cautiously approached her and stopped behind her.

She seemed to notice his presence then as she turned towards him with her bright and excited eyes, one that made him wonder if she had all the energy in the world.

"You're here just in time," she told him as she broke out into a smile. "I just told my parents about us and how you're taking me on a date."

His brows furrowed, not knowing how to respond, so he could only nod.

She looked like she wanted to laugh at the way he was clearly uncomfortable but she held it in and tore her gaze away from him and back towards the altars.

"You know, my mum and dad had always been worried about me and how I would ever survive without them. They must be very happy seeing me alive unscathed today," she grinned. "I also told them it was all your merits that I made it to this day. I know they must be thankful to you that I could breathe a few more days than I'm due. I also told them there are many bad people after me, and if something happens to me, you are never to be blamed because you haved tried your best to protect me already."

Itachi gulped as he stood stiffly like an ice statue. "You have given me too much credit."

She shook her head with a smile but said nothing more as she pushed herself to stand. She brushed the dust off her dress as she trotted over to his side. "It's getting dark, I think we should start heading down the mountain. It looks like it's going to rain soon too."

Itachi nodded, agreeing with her as he looked up at the sky overhead. Dark clouds had begun to gather, blanketing the horizon and covering the sunlight.

With that, the both of them headed outside, back into the dingy forest. They began making their way down the path, and the further they headed away from the shrine, the further the sky seemed to grow a darker shade. It seemed a heavy storm was brewing, and almost as if he were calling it, the first drop of the cold rain grazed his skin like sharp needles.

The Fragrance glanced up at the sky as she winced. "I think we should hurry down."

Itachi furrowed his brows as he assessed the situation and shook his head. "I think we should find a shelter first. The terrain will be too dangerous for you once it rains, and it is also getting dark. We should rest for the night."
