Blooming Ambitions: A pokemon Story

Chapter 4

Lotus sent out her next pokemon.

Lilligant.

"Alright Spewpa, your turn to take the stage!" I say, sending out Spewpa.

Spewpa looked confused for a second, before it landed eyes on Lilligant. When it did, Spewpa turned back to me with a scared look in its eyes, and I couldn't help but feel sorry for it.

"I know it's scary Spewpa, but this is just for practice, okay? Do your best." I say reassuringly crouching down to Spewpa.

Spewpa nods before turning back towards Lilligant.

"Lilligant, use petal dance!" Lotus says, then Lilligant spins around, and petals fall from the flower on its head, which then fire towards spewpa.

"Spewpa use protect!"

As soon as I said the command, a green protective circle formed around spewpa, protecting it from =Lilligant's attack.

I knew that petal dance lasted for a few moves, but the pokemon became confused after that.

"Spewpa, keep using protect!" I command, and spewpa nods, as another wave of petals attack Spewpa.

After one more round, Lilligant was finally confused, allowing Spewpa to at least get some damage in.

"Use stun spore Spewpa!"

I could see Lotus mumble something under her breath, but since I was on the other side of the battlefield, I couldn't hear what she said.

"Good job Spewpa, keep using tackle!" I command, and Spewpa then proceeds to carry out the command.

"Lilligant! Use leaf storm!" Lotus instructs, and I could hear the hope in her voice that the attack would land, since there was a chance Lilligant would hurt itself rather than Spewpa, since it was confused.

I could almost hear the sigh of relief as Lilligant used leaf storm, hitting spewpa dead on.

"Spewpa!" I yelled, panic clear in my voice.

Luckily, spewpa was still standing, and turned back towards me, letting me know it could still battle.

After that, I instructed Spewpa to use harden to raise its defence a little, so I could get little bits of damage in before I sent fennekin in again to try and take out Lilligant.

"Keep using tackle Spewpa! I know you can do it!" I hollered encouragingly.

After a few turns of Spewpa using tackle, Lilligant was no longer confused, and I could see Lotus smirk.

"Lilligant. Use mega drain." She instructs.

With that, Spewpa faints, but I could see a few scratches on Lilligant disappear.

"You did well Spewpa thank you" I whisper to Spewpa's pokeball.

"You're really not holding anything back, are you?" I say to Lotus.

"Of course, I'm not. I told you I wouldn't go easy on you, didn't I?" Lotus says confidently, and I couldn't help but laugh a little.

"Indeed, you did." I reply, then took out deerlings pokeball.

"Lilligant, return!" Lotus calls, and Lilligant goes back into its pokeball.

"Umbreon, let's go!" Lotus says, sending out her Umbreon.

"Time to take the stage Deerling!" I announce, and Deerling immediately comes out of its pokeball.

"This is just practice okay Deerling, do your best." I encourage, and Deerling nods before jumping into a battle stance.

"Deerling seems determined. Let's get started shall we, your move first Yui." Lotus says confidence in her voice.

"Your mistake" I reply, smirking. My confidence was growing, and I was determined to win this battle.

"Deerling, use double kick!" I commanded confidently, since I knew fighting type pokemon and moves were super effective against dark type pokemon.

With that, deerling proceeded to use its hind legs to kick Umbreon, making Umbreon skid back a little.

"Use psychic!" Lotus shouts, and Umbreon carries out the command immediately, lifting deerling up in the air then throws it to the ground.

I watched, trying to think of a strategy to win. Once Umbreon had let go of deerling, I knew what I would do.

"Deerling, use sand attack continuously!" I command, deerling carrying out the instruction immediately.

Before Lotus had a chance to say another command to Umbreon, I quickly told deerling to use double kick but move every time it did, since Umbreon was still blinded by the sandstorm deerling had whipped up from using sand-attack continuously.

After what felt like an eternity of deerling using double kick, Umbreon finally fainted.

"It's fine, it's fine." I could hear Lotus say to herself, almost trying to convince herself as well.

She let out a laugh shortly after though, letting me know she wasn't angry and was indeed having as much fun as I was.

"Okay, let's finish this." Lotus says a small smile on her face as she sends out Lilligant again.

"Can you still battle deerling?" I ask the small deer. She nods and faces Lilligant.

Lotus commands Lilligant to use leaf storm, which it obeys and sends a storm of razor-sharp leaves towards deerling.

"Deerling! Dodge best you can!" I yell desperately, wanting nothing more than to win.

I thought deerling had managed to dodge the attack entirely, but unfortunately for us, deerling still got hit.

"Deerling, use tackle!" I instructed, knowing that if deerling took one more hit, it would be unable to battle.

Deerling lands the hit, luckily but I knew we couldn't win. Deerling had taken too much damage from both Umbreon's psychic and Lilligant's leaf storm.

"Lilligant, finish this off. Use mega drain!" Lotus says, oddly menacingly.

Lilligant carries out the command, and Deerling fainted.

"You did amazing Deerling, thank you so much." I whisper to deerling's pokeball, defeat evident in my voice.

Fennekin brushes against my leg, looking at me with a worrying glance.

"I'm okay, don't worry." I reply, giving a small smile to the fire fox next to me.

Sighing softly, I turn to Lotus, "I know I can't beat you, so I admit defeat." My voice was soft and calm.

"No, you can't just forfeit your first pokemon battle Yui, I have to beat fennekin still!" Lotus says, a little annoyed.

"Fine," I start, then turning to fennekin, I continue "Let's go fennekin!"

With that Fennekin runs out onto the battlefield.

I quickly instruct fennekin to use ember, but Lotus' Lilligant dodges the attack.

"Keep using ember Fennekin! I know you can do it!" I yell, desperation to win showing in my voice.

Fennekin manages to land a few hits, but I know that she was getting tired and wouldn't be able to battle much longer.

"Let's put an end to this. Lilligant, Leaf storm!" Lotus says.

"Fennekin dodge it!" I cry, but it was too late.

Fennekin was hit by the leaf storm, and fainted.

The battle was over.

I had lost.
