I'm posting this part and the last part of Wanda's jealousy because I love y'all. Sorry for not posting. My holidays have been weird this year.___________________
To say that Tony Stark was terrified of Peppers's reaction to him bringing a toddler home, was one thing. Pepper can be a little scary at moments but he figured a kid being in their presence wouldn't cause him to be of any harm by her yelling at him.
Tony was cleaning up the mess he made in Y/N's garage when he heard her voice.
"Hey, mister. You can use this to pull the tin man!" Y/n suggested a wooden sledge in the corner of the shed. Tony smirked and nodded.
"Good thinking kid. Good thinking" He grabbed the sledge and then lifted the tin man onto it. He then grabbed a rope and tied it around it so that the suit wouldn't move. "There" He stood up brushing off his hands with a proud face. Y/n smiled.
"You got a coat kid? It's pretty nippy out there." Tony asked. Y/n nodded running off to the house and through the back door again where she sprinted into her room. Barbie was holding on for dear life under the little girl's armpit.
Y/n grabbed her small school backpack and threw some of her things in there. She didn't have much, just her blanket, a lollipop she never opened, a small teddy bear and Barbie. She closed it up before rushing to her closer to pick out the only coat she had. She waddled all the way back outside to the garage where Tony had sealed up the door and had his sledge ready. He held onto the rope that pulled it and tested its strength.
Y/n smiled up at him as he laughed. "You gotta put the coat on sweetheart." Tony shook his head.
Y/n furrowed her eyebrows at his laughing but sighed. "I don't know how to." She mumbled. Tony stopped laughing and nodded.
And then, just like a father would, he kneeled in front of her gesturing for the coat as he smiled softly. "Raise your arms." She did and he laughed when she held them in the air.
"Okay on arm first" Tony held one side of the coat as she slipped her arm in. Then the same with the other. He then turned her to face him, zipping it up with a grin. "There ya go Pumpkin"
She giggled when he patted her hair. Tony walked back to the sledge with a sigh. "Well, this the best I could do" He rubbed the back of his neck. He looked up at Y/n as she stood with her back pack on and a determined look on her face.
"You ready to go the kid?" He asked. She nodded desperate to leave this place. She couldn't call it home. Hell, she never even experienced a proper home before. It was like leaving prison and won't didn't even know how much he was saving her.
Tony began to gently pull the sledge along as Y/n waddled behind him. He turned to her as she halted and gave him a look. He sighed.
"Wanna hop on kiddo?" Tony asked nodding towards the sledge. She giggled and ran forward. He sighed and lifted her gently onto the tin man and close to the back of the sledge so she could hold on.
"Alright, hold on" Tony began pulling the sledge away from the house. Away from the quiet neighbourhood and towards what he hoped to be the way back to the main town. He needed to find a phone.
Y/n held onto the back of the sledge ocassiinaly looking up at Tony before looking around her. This felt weird leaving. Leaving with a stranger. Not entirely a stranger since she knew him off the tv but for some reason, it felt okay. Tony was acting more like a father than her real one ever did.
Tony began to struggle a bit waking up a large hill but he got there and Y/n clapped her hands for him. Once he made it that far, he could see a telephone box in front of him and a small town. Only a few cars. Not very busy.
