What to Expect When Expecting in an Omegaverse: Changlix/Hyunlix

The Kiss.

Felix is massaging a moisturizing cream into the stretched skin of his belly as he watches a video one of his professors assigned. It's incredibly boring but he has to write a discussion post about it, which is due tonight by 11:59PM. It's currently 11:21PM. He'd waited until the last minute to watch the stupid thing because he'd been busy throwing himself a pity-party.

As he's watching the video with his shirt rolled up and cream smeared all over his torso, he hears someone come in the apartment. It shouldn't be anyone but Hyunjin. The beta doesn't usually come home late but he's been working hard on a project he's been commissioned for. He has to travel an hour out everyday to get to Incheon International Airport. Then, public transportation runs late but they're further apart so he ends up waiting for awhile to get home. He doesn't complain much about it though.

"Yongbokkie," Felix hears Hyunjin call him from the living room.

"Come in here, I'm doing something" Felix calls back to him and he hears shuffling as the beta gets situated. Then he's coming into Felix's room with a subtle smile on his face. "You look oddly chipper" the omega notes with a small grin.

"I'm always chipper" Hyunjin quips and Felix nods slowly. He notices that the beta has his hands hidden behind his back.

"What's behind your back?" The blonde asks curiously.

"I'll tell you in just a moment, but I just wanted to preface it by saying I don't know how you'll feel about the gift. It might be a bit of an overstep and I hope-"

"You got me a gift? Let me see, let me see!" Felix's deep voice goes up an octave as he makes grabby hands for this alleged gift.

"It's actually not for you..." Hyunjin says as he pulls his hands from behind his back. In his hands is yellow chick plushie. It is about the size of his hand and round like a fluffy little ball.  "It's kind of stupid but it made me think of you and Dumpling-ah, so-"

"Jinnie, it's so cute~" Felix coos, he reaches out for the stuffed animal. Hyunjin walks over and lets the omega take it from him. The plushie is soft to the touch, maybe a bit firmer than he'd imagined but that just means it'll last longer. "You got this for Dumpling?" He asks and suddenly his eyes are welling up with tears.

"Yeah, I hope that's okay. I know you guys haven't gotten around to getting her anything yet and I didn't want to be the first, but I was just so excited." Hyunjin is avoiding meeting his eye as if he's embarrassed, but Felix can't understand why he'd feel embarrassed by this. This is one of the sweetest things he could've done and it's just a toy.

"This is so incredibly sweet, Hyunjin-ah" Felix's voice quivers as he says this and the beta finally looks up. He frowns when he sees the omega's eyes filled with tears.

"Are you crying because you're touched or are you crying because I stole the experience of buying your pup's first item?" He asks nervously and Felix lets out a watery chuckle.

"No, I am extremely touched by this. This was very sweet of you. I appreciate it a- a lot." He crumbles at the end of his sentence and suddenly it feels like the weight of the world has come crashing down onto him. He starts to sob as he thinks that he's actually about to have a baby. Another human that he's responsible for. She will be here soon and he has nothing prepared for her. He can't even sort out his relationship with her other father before she gets here. It feels like there's nothing that he can do for her. He will be a terrible parent. He covers his rapidly flushing face as he cries and he feels Hyunjin sit on the bed.

"I don't think these are touched tears, Yongbok-ah. Are you sure you're okay?" He asks as he drapes an arm over the small omega's shoulders.

"N-No, Hyun- Hyunjin," he can barely speak through his sobs, "I'm just-just... going through a- a lot." The omega stutters out. Hyunjin pulls him close into his side and he smells the subtle scent of fresh lavender wafting off of the beta. The scent does wonders for his nerves and it helps him concentrate on trying to get himself together.
