⋆·˚ ༘ * THE LAST TIME
"i won't hurt you anymore"

Juliette held the books close to her chest as she opened the dark locker, her lips in a permanent frown, shoving the majority of her belongings into the tote hanging from her shoulder.

The excited chatter coming down the hallway made her want to shrink, the sound of Taylor voice nearing made her work quicker.

"Hey, J." Taylor smiled largely at her. Juliette nodded in acknowledgment as she continued to pack up, Taylor's lips fell flat as she tried to lighten the mood, "It's not too late to sign up for volleyball camp, you know."

Before she could answer, Steven came hollering down the hallway in excitement, joining the group of girls surrounding Juliette, his fist in the air as he whooped loudly, "Oh, high school is over, bitches!"

Juliette couldn't help but smile lightly at his excitement, her eyes gazing over to Belly who stared blankly into the distance, her smile dropped.

"Are you going to Princeton? That's so cool, I couldn't tell." Taylor teased as the other girls congratulated the boy, Steven shot her a glare with an eye roll.

The clear print of Princeton on his bright colored shirt, repping the school with pride. His smile was radiant. "Oh, you-you couldn't tell? I love you, too."

Juliette closed her locker, leaning back against it as Spike; Steven's friend, had nearly galloped down the hallway, slapping him on the back, "What time's the grad party tomorrow, man?"

"The band comes on at..." Steven began but was soon cut off by smug Taylor as she twirled her light hair, "I'm dating the singer."

Steven couldn't help but roll his eyes, a little chuckle leaving his thin lips, "Uh, yeah, the Machine gun Kelly wannabe. I tried to veto him from playing, but I guess we couldn't find anybody cheaper."

Taylor stuck her middle finger up at him, knowing he was just trying to get under her skin, her head turning towards her two best friends as they stood in silence, observing, "Wait. So, are you guys coming to the party?"

Juliette parted her lips, glancing over at Belly as they both shrugged, "Oh, I don't know."

"Julie! Julie!" A voice in the distance called, making Juliette cock her head around Taylor, her guidance counselor in the distance.

The blonde swallowed, half-glad this conversation was interrupted as she flashed a closed-lip smiled at Taylor and Belly, "I... I gotta go."

She brushed past Steven, feeling the groups eyes follow her backside as she walked down the hall, dodging excited students as she stepped into the office, the door shutting behind her.

Juliette sat with her hands and legs crossed as she stared at the name tag on the desk as the computer sounds filled the silenced room.

"Julie." The woman began, the tone in her voice screamed disappointment, the older woman sat up taller, only making the young girl want to sink into the chair. "I was reviewing your end-of-term transcripts, and I couldn't help but notice that you grades have taken a serious dive. I mean, you kept an A in French, but you won't impress college's with just French. Is there something going on?"

She gulped, shifting in her seat, Susannah's face flashing in her head as she squeezed her eyes shut for a moment, "There was a death in the family."
