CHAPTER- ZERO-ZERO-FORTY-ONE
——————————————

THREE HOURS LATER they were in a limo headed to Death Row Records. Aaliyah was extremely nervous and it had taken a lot of prep talk and convincing from DeVante to calm her down but the longer they rode in the limo the more nervous she became.

DeVante eyed her for gestures that she might break in half but so far he had seen only the ordinary signs of nervousness from someone about to record for a major record label. What made things worse was she had barely eaten anything since the breakfast he ordered her earlier. He tried to get her to eat room-service deli sandwiches for lunch but she only managed to take a nibble before declaring she couldn't eat anymore because she was too darn nervous.

Aaliyah never had to record for other people besides DeVante or her Uncle. Yeah, she did auditions for different record labels. So the thought of recording for Suge Knight was a lot more fearsome than she let on. She didn't know him extremely well, and DeVante did as much as he could to cheer her up by reminding her that those were just immature tales that she didn't need to give attention to. However, DeVante thought it was best to let the machete incident go ignored since it was only a mere joke.

He didn't tell his bandmates either, because it was already bad enough that they had skepticism about Suge all except for Joel who stayed behind last night letting the male know ASAP that he could find his ride.

To Devante's astonishment, the rest of Jodeci decided to get out of their emotions and tag along, they contended it was for the support of Aaliyah reasoning she was going to need it big time if she was going to be around Suge Knight and his posse. Joel stayed back at the hotel to catch a few shuteye alone since he was out all last night which DeVante understood. He didn't exactly know what time the male came strolling in last night but he did know it was hella late.

Oh and Mary. (Roll eyes) and her obnoxious friend Janelle.

Who invited them and told them they could ride along was a lingering question for the birds.

Finally, they made it to the building DeathRow was housed in and strolled inside. It was then she turned entirely white the first moment when they entered the lobby.

It was just so professional, very dark, and embellished profoundly as if Carrie's bucket of pig's blood splattered with all the red incorporated into the furniture, and walls. Has he heard of soft colors?

Oh, wait there was a splash of black and grey on the marble floor, with Deathrow artists signed that were on the walls. There weren't many people signed however the teen believed it was due to the label still being fairly new. Despite the darkness, it was so extraordinary that it took her breath away.
