Dear Luke,

I stopped by to see your mom after school. For some reason, I was thinking about her for the past couple of days. Maybe I wondered if she missed you too. Of course she did, but I wondered if she felt as sad as me.

She opened the door, and she seemed to be getting better. She put on makeup and did her hair, she looked beautiful. Not as tired and worn out.

She let me in, and your brothers were inside sitting on the couch watching something.

Your brothers and I caught up with each other on things. How we are doing, school, jobs, the normal things.

Your mom was making dinner, and I helped her make it. She offered me to come and stay, to eat, and I declined before I saw that little spark of sadness in her features, so I stayed and ate dinner.

After dinner, I walked down the hall and found some photos of you were gone, yet some remained on the walls. Frozen moments in time. I saw one of you and your brothers when you were little. You were so cute.

When I got home I felt tired. I think maybe just mentally exhausted.

So now I'm going to sleep.
