Chapter 20

I wake up to the sound of an alarm.
Not the normal buzzing alarm but the "house is on fire" or "burglars are in the house" type of alarm.

Grabbing my phone,car keys and credit cards, I put them in my sling bag.
I place my hands under my bed and grab my bat.
The door opens and some masked woman wearing a leather suit stands at the other side.

She takes out knives out of her boots and hauls them at me.
I duck each and every one skillfully as I put my sling bag over my neck.
Having a black belt in Karate really pays off.

She runs after me and I her. I slide down moments before we get close and hit her on her knees with the bat.
She falls flat writhing in pain.
I turn back and take of her mask.

"Lassey?" I ask confused
She punches me immediately and kicks me at my abdomen forcing me to fall.

I stand up as fast as I can but she hits me on my back. Falling back down, I let out a painful grunt.
"Why are you doing this?" I groan

She looks away from me for a second and I jump up hitting her on face with my bat.
She falls.
I run to the door before she catches up with me.
Standing up she looks at me
"Katerina debe morir"
What?

I turn and run. Never looking back.
Where's Sebastian?
A sharp pain passes through my back and I fall on the floor gasping for air.
I can barely breath and I'm pretty sure this is the part I'm supposed to die.
I turn to see a gigantic man holding a club.

I want to stand and run but I'm too weak.
He holds up the club ready to clobber me to death.
An arrow passes through his chest.

I turn to the other side as he almost falls on me.
"Come Katherine. We go" Sebastian says holding a bow.

I suddenly feel completely fine.

I run with him to the back door
"What's happening?" I ask
Three men come from both sides of the hallway ambushing us.
I start to panic saying my last prayers.
Sebastian removes two pistols from his backpack, shooting at them
"Questions later" he replies

As we get out of the house Sebastian stops.
He gives me his bag
"Promise me you won't freak"
What the hell Sebastian

His bones started outstretching, his jawbone dislocates and develops into a vicious fanged mouth.
Hair spurted all over, his eyes turned blood red.
His fingernails grew at an alarming rate into razor-sharp claws as he's forced to go on all fours.

He was no longer the man he had once been.
