Chaitra

We returned to Jodhpur two days after our engagement. I visited all the Ganesh Pandals in those two days with Hithu, Dev bhayya, Ishika bhabi, and Viv. Akash Annayya and Bindu vadina didn't visit the crowded pandals because she was pregnant. The Kairathabad Ganesh took my breath away like every time and Balanagar Ganesh is mesmerizing as ever. We had a lot of fun visiting Pandals and tasting different meals. 

Once I came back to Jodhpur, the interviews started. I attended a few internship interviews along with Dakshs' company. The interviews went well, and I am confident that I will get an offer at least from one of the five interviews I attended. 

It was afternoon. I was sitting in my class trying not to sleep listening to the boring lecture of Sharma sir but it seemed nearly impossible. I looked at the ring adorning my ring finger. It is a simple platinum band with four diamonds arranged in the shape of a small flower. I liked its design and was happy with Dakshs' choice. Nithi Di said that it was he who chose my ring even when his family offered to shop for the ring. A smile found its way to my lips remembering that. I was the one who chose his ring because my family got confused about what to choose, so they video-called me from the shop and showed me the rings they short-listed and I chose the ring for him. I wanted to choose it but mumma said they didn't want me to see the ring before the engagement but at last, it was me who chose his ring. It was also a platinum band studded with small diamonds around it. It was simple and elegant. 

"Chaitra!" I heard Sharma sir yelling which broke my trance. I noticed that the entire class was looking at me like I was some alien.

"Where were you lost? Do you even know the topic name?" He yelled at me. I looked around and saw the students looking at me expecting an answer.

"DOS attacks" I muttered lowly and he nodded at me before asking me to take my seat and concentrate. I sat back muttering a small sorry but I couldn't concentrate on his lecture again. I mean he was just reading from PowerPoint and I can do that just fine too! I was about to doze off when the attendant came to class with a few papers and pasted them on the notice board. I gave Seema a puzzled look asking what were they and she shrugged her shoulders in reply indicating she too didn't know.

 I tried to peek at them but again Sharma sir's voice interrupted me.

"They are not going to run away, Chaitra! Concentrate!" He yelled at me. What's wrong with him? Did he wake up on the wrong side of the bed or what? And why is he scolding only me leaving all the others who were using mobiles, eating, and doing whatnot?

I again muttered a sorry and turned my attention to the powerPoint trying to seriously concentrate this time. Our class and my torture came to an end after an hour and sir walked out throwing us a thank you. Soon, students rushed to the notice board and I sat back waiting for the crowd to clear.

"Bha... Chaitra!" Abhi called out. He was about to call me Bhabi but stopped himself. I looked at him and he gave me a sheepish smile. He came and sat beside me smiling. Soon, Rakshith too came and sat with us.

"We are selected for our company! You are selected in one other company and I am selected in two other companies, Rakshit too got selected in another company along with Bhai's!" He exclaimed happily and I smiled at him.

"Are you sure your bhai doesn't have any hand in our selection?" I asked them raising a brow. I agree that I did well in the interview but it was the only company in which three of us got selected in common.

"No, he doesn't. He doesn't get involved in the recruitment of interns and he already warned us that he is not going to help us in any way, right?" He asked looking at Rakshith who nodded. He didn't warn me but he did inform me that he won't be involved in the recruitment process. I smiled at them.

"Yaar, only 8 people got selected for Chauhan groups yaar! I wanted to do my internship from there!" We heard a girl and she was none other than that brat. We shrugged and started discussing other things. Seema, Karthik, and Mayank came to us. We all left for the canteen and sat at our usual table. Seema was sitting there in a grumpy mood and I decided to ask her the matter.

"What happened, madame? You got selected in Rathore Corp, right?" I asked her and she passed me a death glare. What happened to her?

"Why are you grumpy, girl?" Karthik asked her and she just gave him a cold glare. We all looked at her expectantly and she huffed folding her hands in front of her chest.

"You three are going to join your hubby's company and these two idiots are going to join the same company but I am going to be alone in that Rathore Corp! It is my dream company but I don't want to go there alone!" She whined and that's when we realized that we were going to do an offline internship and she was going to be alone there. We were about to say something when Akshaya and Akansha came to us. Akshaya was in the same state as Seema. We looked at her for an explanation but she just sat there pouting. We looked at Akansha and she explained what happened.

"She got selected for an internship in Rathore Corp and she was the only one from our gang who got selected for that. The remaining people who got selected from 3rd year are not close to her." She explained and we all relaxed after that. Seema started giggling like an idiot after hearing that.

"Thank god! I thought I would be spending 3 months alone." She exclaimed dramatically making us roll our eyes.

"Don't worry Akshaya. This idiot is going to do her internship at the same company." I said to Akshaya and she smiled after hearing me. 

"Let's go out and party! This calls for a party guys!" Karthik squealed and we all nodded. We decided to freshen up and then go out.

 After reaching the hostel, I group called Dad, Maamu(Dev's father), and Mama(Hithen's father) and informed them about the offers and they asked me to choose Dakshs' company almost immediately. I cut the call and called the ladies after that. They said the same as their husbands. Then I called my gang and they said the same. Bindu vadina and Ishika bhabi started teasing me saying I would be having some office romance during this internship unlike others but stopped immediately when my brothers glared at them. I cut the call and freshened up quickly.
