Daksh

She asked me not to go to her room and she would come here to take me and here I am sitting on my bed adjusting my watch for the 10th time. Soon there was a knock on the door and I literally ran to the door and opened with a grin on my face.

She was wearing a teal-colored kurthi set. Her dress matched my teal t-shirt which was also gifted by her for me to wear today. I admired the beauty in front of me as she stood at my doorstep with her hair open, big silver ear-rings adorning her ears, eyes adorned with eye-liner and a small bindi resting between her beautiful brows and her face free of make-up, just that beautiful smile of hers.

"You are looking handsome, Aksh," she complimented, tucking a strand behind her ear but my world stopped at the nickname she used. Did she call me Aksh? Did she give me a nickname?

"What did you call me, Jaan?" I asked as I stepped closer. She lifted her lashes and took a step closer as she moved her lips slowly to whisper "Aksh," and my hand flew to my heart as I rubbed it to calm down my racing heart.

"I love it," I confessed as I kissed her forehead and a smile graced her lips. She nodded her head and wound her hands around me.

"You are looking beautiful, Jaan," I said and she replied with a kiss on my chest. She does that when she wants to express her love when we are in a hug and the reaction my heart gives to it is insane.

"Shall we go?" I asked once we broke the hug.

"After you, gentleman!" She giggled as she stepped aside a little to let me lead the way.

"Nope, together with you m'lady," I intervened our fingers and we moved out together. Once we were downstairs she informed her family that she was taking me to show their fields and her dad asked us to return before the night saying it would get cold, we both replied with an okay and stepped out.

"First we will go to the temple," she said and we both went to a temple. We did pradikshan(rounding the temple) after which we entered by ringing the bell. The priest went to perform Archana once Chaitra handed over the cover with flowers, incense sticks, coconut, turmeric, and vermillion.

I tried to cover Chaitra's head with her dupatta but she shook her head with a smile and put her dupatta down. Before I could ask something the priest returned with aarthi and gave us prashad after that. We both sat in the temple for a while and walked out.

"Why didn't you let me cover your head?" I asked once we were out.

"We don't do that in southern states. I will let you do the honors when we go to the temple back in Rajasthan," She replied with a giggle and I found myself smiling at her. She then took me to the outskirts where there was only greenery around.

There were some heaps of paddy ready to be made into grains and some fields were already having the new saplings planted for the next season. She guided me to a canal where there was a palm trunk as a bridge to cross from one end to the other. I doubt if we would be able to cross that.

"Take off your shoes," she instructed and I followed her, confused. She too took off her footwear and held my hand as we neared the trunk.

"Just hold my hand and balance your weight," she instructed and we both started walking on the trunk. My leg slipped in the middle but she was quick to hold my arm and stop me from falling into water. It's not like I can't cross it, I was just nervous and didn't want to make a fool of myself by falling into the water while my Jaan was walking like a peacock perfectly balancing herself which made me nervous and I lost a step.

"I am being the perfect host for a date!" she exclaimed patting herself once we reached the other end with a giggle.

"I  even saved my prince charming from falling, " she completed and I couldn't stop myself from kissing her cheek and then I bit it.
