Maybe it was wrong not to tell him right away. Perhaps it was a mistake not to tell him when he first inquired. Possibly, it was a stupid thing not to talk to him in private as soon as he could and tell him.

But, as Crunchy Chip nags on and on to Dark Cacao about his missing Cream Wolf that he's been enquiring about for months. It was time for him to know. But how to word it?

As Dark Cacao looked out of his window of his office to the Kingdom his parents gave him, when he was barely 19, down bellow. He couldn't help but wonder, should he tell Crunchy Chip, or should he wait until he stops asking if he ever is blessed with that day.

He scratched his stubble as he looked down, the small blurs of Watchers rushing across the wall, the Kingdom's cookies all merry and joyful. Yet he was falling back to that rickety path he fell down before.

But it wasn't about his son or betrayal. It was about that Cream Wolf. He only knew that it got destroyed by that monster, but he didn't know the full story and heavily doubted Affogato knew either.

A strong sigh exited his lips as he took a step back from the window and back to his chair. He needed a break, a break to think and breathe. It was a break to ponder if he was doing the right thing that he needed.

A gentle knock came from the door, Blackberry Cookie stepping in. She was recently hired due to Hollyberry recommending her as a good cookie to have in the kingdom for some new flavours.

"Your Majesty, I have some tea for you." She spoke, her voice dull as she brought in a cup of tea on a tray.

Dark Cacao was so used to Affogato bringing in tea that what was most likely poisoned, the fact he got it from a servant that didn't poison it was unusual, nerve racking in some places.

"Thank you, Blackberry." He nodded as the tray was placed on his desk.

"You seem tired. Would you like me to get another high rank to do your work for you?" She asked, moving the tea over to him.

"No... I just need a break for a bit, I can do the work. There's no need to force it onto another cookie."

A soft hum came from Blackberry as she stood up straight, "I want to inform you that Adventurer cookie and I will need a break next month for the oncoming arrival."

Blackberry was expecting, hence, why Hollyberry was so desperate to get her a job at the Dark Cacao Kingdom, as he would pay more and have cheaper living circumstances than the Hollyberry Kingdom.

And she wasn't early in her carrying either. She looked like she stuffed a basketball up her dress. Dark Cacao heard it was going to be a girl from a conversation Adventurer and her had. But that's as much as he really knew about the oncoming Arrival.

"Of course... Take as much time as you need, Blackberry, that doughling must be important to you."

Dark Cacao couldn't help but remember Queen Butter when she was carrying his son. But he mustn't think about that, Crunchy Chip finding out what happened to his Wolf is far more important.

A swift bow and a muttered thank you came from Blackberry before she left, gently closing the door behind her.

Dark Cacao looked at the tea before the paperwork. It was about a crime that was committed last year. Two murders in the Coffee Tribe, but that paperwork was sent months ago and was no longer relevant. The Parfaedian police gave up on it some months back.

Quickly, he pushed it into the bin next to his desk. The next piece of paper was about Affogato. He needed a trip back to his Tribe sooner rather than later.

He'll speak to him in private for that. The communication would be a lot better that way.

He looked at the tea left for him. He didn't want to drink it. Not that he wasn't thirsty. He wasn't feeling up to do anything.
