DESTAN POV

"sir, good day to you. im destan, harus mate." i reached out a hand to be civil and luckily enough i was reciprocated the same. but the grip though...

umm...

"yes, youre the mate. royal huh..." zee, harus dad, scoffed. did he just made fun of my lineage? "royal or not, youre no-one in this house... " now my hearts beating too fast and harus not the reason for it. "unless..." he then looked at me from my feet to my face in a very calculating manner. it felt like im being measured.

"unless?" i asked just to break the tension

"unless?" i asked just to break the tension. i dont like this. im supposed to be polite here but if push became a shove, ill really going to take a stand for my rights for my singer.

"unless you can remain standing on your two feet for a good ten minutes outside with me as your opponent."

huh?

"b-but sir."

"dont want the blessing?" he said curtly opening the front door again

"dont want the blessing?" he said curtly opening the front door again.

"i do." i answered but hes already out of sight. i run after him and found him at their vast backyard. seeing that the area was massive plain without any trees or bushes to hide from, i could say that this area seems to be like their training field.

i was about to call for him since he just vanished again when a gust of wind barreled into me. knocking my breath out of my lungs.

"heads up, young one. harus more resilient than that. you think you can protect him when its only just a fast wind?"

"no, sir. im more... capable than that." i challenged not only him but myself as well. i admit he got me by surprise but not any more. hell be the one getting a surprise.

"well see. ready." he poised a stance and vanished once again. though hes fast, my vampiric eyes showed him in slow motion. hes trully fast, but not fast enough though.

i ram into him through his torso, knocking him backwards. even old in age, harus father was as sturdy as any tree still standing even when tested by calamities. hes so sure of his footing, even i, who sparred with multiple creatures at once, cant push him out of it.
