It had been more than two weeks already since he had left Zhan's place that night.
Wang Yibo always knew that good things don't last long and his happiness really hadn't lasted long enough.
But the best thing he had gained was his other half, his sunshine, his cute, loving mate, his omega.... Xiao Zhan.
And then he lost it, screwed it all up like he always knew and feared he would.
But when he met the other again after three years on that day on the Jiang mansion, his pain and misery started caging him all over again and he promised himself that he would not let the other go so easily this time.
Wang Yibo had thought that this time, he wouldn't end up alone. He thought, this time, he would be able to get back together with his omega. After all, if anyone's supposed to stay with you forever, it's your mate, right?
Wrong .
It seemed to be very wrong in his case.
He had been friends with Xiao Zhan since they met during their university. He has not known that Zhan was his omega until that fateful day when Zhan had forgotten to wear his scent blocker. And when Xiao Zhan had finally accepted him as his mate, his alpha, he had been happy. He had been more than happy.
And then they had proceeded further into their relationship.
Wang Yibo had been on heavens when they had eventually married after all the ups and downs. He thought, that they could be a very loving couple just like all those couples he had always seen.
And it had been true. He and Xiao Zhan had been very happy during their marriage life. Well, they too had some small and silly couple fights. But that was all. There had never been a day during which either of them ignored and avoided the other. Despite their fights, they had been happy. Very happy.
Except for one thing.
They couldn't make a baby. Wang Yibo and Xiao Zhan, both of them loved babies and wanted kids of their own blood, sweat and tears. They longed for a baby. But their dream couldn't cone true until a year later into their marriage.
And that was the very day, they separated.
Wang Yibo was drunk that night so he could only remember fragments of that night's events. But he was very clear that his Xiao Zhan would never betray him.
But still, he has been unable to keep his omega safe and within his protection and unfortunately, he've had no information of his omega for the following three years.
But he just couldn't bring himself to be angry with Xiao Zhan. It was his own fault, after all. His own fault for being so naïve, so clingy, so fucking unlovable...
If he had stood up for Xiao Zhan a little more and had gone against his family like he did this time, then may be, he could have got Xiao Zhan back again, at least a little sooner.
But now, it had been three years already and how could he mend now?
Of course, Wang Yibo wouldn't let go of Xiao Zhan anyways, but what if, Xiao Zhan disappeared just like three years ago?!
What would he do then?!
Wang Yibo felt a droplet on his face – of course, what else could it be? Except tears?
Ever since Xiao Zhan disappeared, Wang Yibo had been sleeping worse. If he slept at all. Like last night. He had maybe slept for two hours. But that was already generous. He had slept maybe five hours the night before. At first he only had slight problems falling asleep, but it got worse from night to night until he almost didn't sleep at all. He felt haunted in his own walls. Everything reminded him of Xiao Zhan, of everything he missed so much.
And it was the same now too.
Wang Yibo didn't want to show any weakness, but he missed Xiao Zhan so much. It wasn't like they hadn't seen each other in the past two weeks, as he had just been spending last few days at the other's place and, but that wasn't enough. He wanted Xiao Zhan to sleep in the same bed with him again. To be with him when he needed him the most. To stay with him during his rut! He wouldn't be able to stand it if he had to stay in the dark any longer.
He could feel his tears burning hotly down his cheeks. Wang Yibo really wanted to stop crying, but he just couldn't. Everything that had been build up inside him burst out of him like a big wave.
It felt like a thousand knives were being stabbed into his heart.
Wang Yibo took a deep breath and tried somehow to calm his breathing and stop crying. He only succeeded semi-well.
He couldn't sit around crying! Not anymore!
Wang Yibo looked around his temporary room. It was filled with cigarette butt's and bottles. He had smoked half a pack of cigarettes and drunk a small bottle of Diet Coke in the past few hours. But that wasn't all. He had drunk and smoked worse when his rut reached its peak. Xiao Zhan certainly wouldn't like it if he knew how Wang Yibo's eating behavior changed since they separated. But that wasn't the point.
Wang Yibo could feel the coke in his blood. His body was warm and his mind was a bit foggy. Maybe he should take a little break from drinking. A smoke break sounded like a pretty good idea. Fresh air would certainly do him good too.
But Xiao Zhan would do him better!
It had been more than two weeks already but still the words Zhan had uttered to him still echoed in his mind, regrets lingering in the air.
Lying in bed, staring at the ceiling, Yibo reflected on the mess that happened despite planning to get Zhan back. Guilt gnawed at his heart, the memory of Zhan's eyes haunting him. The pain of a broken relationship welled up, silent tears slipping from the corners of his eyes as he grieved their relationship. Broken relationship.
As he lay there, his head started playing out the unexpected turns that life took since meeting Xiao Zhan. A flood of memories, spontaneous and wild, flowed through his mind.
And finally, A-yaun's face appeared in front of him. His son.
Yibo clenched his eyes shut and screamed into the empty room.
No matter what, he would not let go of Xiao Zhan. He will get him back and live the happy life that he had always dreamt of!

Fanfiction"As much as I hate to say this, Wang Yibo, we are no longer married! Xiao Zhan hissed. Wang Yibo clenched his eyes shut at the words. He knew it. He knew that they were not married but it just... It hurts!
