"Wah me do fi deserve silent treatment?" Dantè placed his phone on the coffee table.

We just came back from the obgyn.

I wasn't speaking to Danté and I didn't even know why I wasn't.

I just didn't feel like it.

Dirty style that.

Seated on the couch, I began the deliberate process of removing my Alexander McQueen sneakers, feigning obliviousness to Danté's presence as if I hadn't heard him.

I haven't spoken a full sentence to him since the day I found out I was pregnant and we left the doctor's office.

Jesus take the wheel.

He received only brief, concise responses from me, supplemented by subtle cues from my body language.

"Cyaa fix nutn' if me nuh know wah me do enuh,"His gaze remained fixed on me.

I shook my head while proceeding to remove the next shoe from my foot.

"Danay," he sounded annoyed. "Tell me wah me do nuh."

At least him nuh nonchalant again.

That's why yuh must talk to the man before him get nonchalant again.

I shook my head trying to tell him that he didn't do anything.

He approached where I sat, looming over me as he stood."B, talk to me nuh."

I lifted my gaze to meet his, releasing a sigh before shaking my head in a gesture laden with mixed emotions.

"Me alright."

"It nuh sound like yuh alright, from when yuh naah say a word," He responded with a counter of his own.

"Me say me good," I replied. My words carried a distinct tone of attitude.

He hissed his teeth.

Go brush them.

"Nuh waah yuh feel like me a force yuh fi have me youth enuh Danay," He was visibly becoming agitated and riled up.

The shift in his mood became evident whenever he addressed me by my name.

"Me never say that," My voice emerged soft, and I avoided meeting his eyes.
