Chapter 30

"Please...I don't want you to be mad at me anymore."He whispered softly. "Ross!"I cried. I felt his body start to gain its head back. I kissed him. I can feel him try to but he didn't have the energy or the muscles to do so. I wiped off my face. "Your okay. Your okay." I hugged him tightly. "Please tell me your not mad at me anymore. I don't want you to be mad anymore. If you are, I can't do this." He said looking around slightly. "What do you mean?" I asked. I felt his blood start to circulate but his body temperature was fading once again.He closed his eyes tightly. "I love you. I promise to come back to you. I'll wake up but you have to give me time." He said. My voice cracked and I looked at him. "What?" I asked. "Trust me.I love you." He said and closed his eyes. No! No! "Wake up! Please! No!" I shouted and the machines started to beep rapidly and loudly. I was then hauled out of the room as doctors flooded in.

"What happened? What is wrong? Are you okay?" Stormie ran over to me. "I was talking to him and he said that he was gonna wake up for me. He'll come back to me but I don't know why. He then closed his eyes but his machines started beep and went haywire. " I told her. "What did he say before?" She asked. "That's pretty much it. And where's Jake?" I asked her. "He's at the cafeteria with his aunt. They should be back soon." She said engulfing me in a hug. I cried on her shoulder. "Its okay. Stay strong. He said he'll wake up for you. That's all you should be concerned about." She said. I nodded. "Thanks." I sniffed. "Mommy?" I heard. I looked up.

"Hey...Hey." I say moving my hair out of my face. He looked at me worriedly. "Are you okay?" He asked. I nodded. "Is daddy okay?" He asked. I shook my head. He came over as I held my arms out to him. "He hasn't been getting any sleep." Rydel called out. I picked him up and scolded him. "What? You know I can't sleep knowing that dad might not be okay. I know I said I was fine but I'm not mommy. I'm scared. I'm scared out of my mind. I had a nightmare when I tried to take a nap but its not working. I can't mommy. Mommy help me."He said. I smiled. He's finally reaching out to me. "Sweetie. No matter the situation, look on the bright side of things remember. Don't think about it too deeply. Yes I know your scared and so am I. But I'm here for you. And so is everyone else." I say. He nodded.

"Will he be okay? Just tell me he'll be okay. If you can't tell me that then I don't know what I'm gonna do."He said sadly. "He's gonna be fine. He'll be up and running with you soon." I joked painfully. He chuckled slightly. "Thanks mommy." He said. I hugged him. "Good now I need you to take a nap. But since its late, your going to bed."I say placing him on my chest. He nodded as I patted his head. "Your dad is fine. When you wake up, he'll be the one to greet you." I say. He smiled closing his eyes. I hope.

He slept peacefully. "It took me forever. How do you do it so easily?" Delly asked. I smiled. "Well you have to be patient with him." I say. "I was.Its just I think he just can't deal with having one parent around. Especially since his best friend is partially in a coma." She said. I scoffled. "Hey! That is not funny!" I say. She shrugged. "I know. He is my brother after all. I can't handle that either. Atleast he's alive and has signs of life. If not then we have a problem." She said. I chuckled and looked down at Jake. He looked so relaxed. Oh my god. Why is this so sad to me?

"I'll take him to the nursery if you want me to." She suggested. I smiled. "I want to but at the same time, I kinda told him that his dad would be the first he sees so I'm gonna let him sleep in his room." I said uneasily. "Are you sure?" She asked. I nodded. "Yes. It'd be messed up if I didn't wouldn't it?" I asked. She nodded. "Very much." She said. "So tell me about it." I smirked. She blushed and looked away. "Uh...No. But I really like food. Speaking of which have you had any?" She asked as if just now remembering it. "Uh...Yeah." I lied. She scolded me. "Are we gonna have to go through this again?" She asked. I shook my head.

"You weren't eating anything? Are you crazy!? You do know your eating for two right!?" She asked. I chuckled. "Yes I am aware. I am also aware that someone is screaming at me and they should quiet down! We have kids sleeping here!" I whisper shout at her.She chuckled. "Uh...No." She said. "Why are you again?" I asked her. "Because he'd scold me for it and you know how he is when it comes to you. Especially since he knocked you up." She rolled her eyes.

"Thanks. I don't think Kansas heard you." i say getting up. The doctors nodded that is was okay to go back in the room. She followed us. I placed him on the chair in the corner. It expanded into a bed and it was nice because it had room for me also. "I'm gonna go get you some food. You look really pale and the color is fading from you quickly. Are you okay?" She asked. I looked at her confused. "I'm fine.Why wouldn't I be?" I asked her. "Because Laur, how many fingers am I holding up?" She asked. I looked at her even more confused. "3?" I asked. "Yup. Doctor!" She called. What is---I'm going down.
