"WHAT if tumakas tayo rito? Kaya nating gawin 'yon, kung gugustuhin natin," Aria suggested, as if she was only offering some piece of candy

"WHAT if tumakas tayo rito? Kaya nating gawin 'yon, kung gugustuhin natin," Aria suggested, as if she was only offering some piece of candy.

We were eating some snacks that they brought.

"Mas malaking problema 'yon kung mahuli tayo," sagot naman ni Kevin.

"I mean, it's just a suggestion. Baka kasi may gusto sa inyong tumakas dito." She gave me a glance. Halatang ako 'yong pinaparinggan niya.

I leaned over to pick a piece of cookie and then silently chew it, thinking about what she had said. Escaping, huh? She's right, we can do that. She's a memory manipulator. She can manipulate everyone's memory and make them forget about the crimes that we did. Kevin can break into the security system. On the other hand, I can create distraction using my illusion. But all of those things will take so much time and effort.

It will, for sure, require another set of running, hiding, and escaping.

And Kevin's also right, malaking problema kapag mag-fail 'yong pagtakas.

After few moments of silence, I shook my head. "Waste of energy." Aren't they tired of running and escaping? Because I am.

Tumango-tango si Aria sa sagot ko. "Yeah, exactly what I'm thinking. Anyway, anong reaksyon noong family mo about sa paghuli sa 'yo?"

Padalawang araw ko na itong pananatili rito, and the only person that visited me was my mom na halos ilang minuto lang ang itinagal. Well, I've received texts from Uncle Finn and Trent Cabrera, telling me to ignore the questions that people might throw at me. They were probably expecting people here would ask me questions about how I hid my identity of being a gifted, why I did it, and how I faked my SCE Certificate, stuffs like that.

Stuffs nosy people would ask.

And I would wish that everyone would be the latter.

"They're stressed about it, of course," sagot ko, pagkatapos ng mahabang katahimikan. They're stressed about it, especially Dad.

Dwein also sent me a text, but only to inform me about Dad's reaction.

Almost telling me how it was my fault.

"Do you think it's my fault?" I lifted my face and looked at them, waiting for their answer.

Nagkatinginan silang magkapatid.

"Hindi naman natin kasalanan na gifted tayo e," Kevin uttered.

"We also have our own reasons kung bakit natin dini-defy 'yong mga rules nila." Aria shrugged. "At saka, hindi mo naman kasalanan kung lumaki kang may ginagamit na pekeng SCE Certificate. Bakit, ikaw ba 'yong nagdikta sa sarili mo na magpanggap bilang normal, na itago 'yong pagiging gifted mo?"
