I was still sitting on the floor, gasping for air, after Amara kicked me on my waist. I lost my balance but I pushed myself up and forced myself to sit. Nanghihina na ang katawan ko. I couldn't use my ability. Hindi ako makapag-concentrate dahil sa sakit na nararamdan ng katawan ko.
Amara was right. Bobo ako pagdating sa ability ko. I didn't know that much tricks about illusions. I had no idea how to use illusions whenever I was in physical pain. The pain kept distracting me. Every time I would force myself, my head ached. I never even trapped different people in different illusions all at the same time. Unlike Knox Celestial who put my friends inside different illusions. Dahil nga siguro lumaki ako na nagpapanggap bilang normal. I wasn't exposed to gifted people, unlike Amara and her gifted comrades who knew how to deal with different gifteds.
Halos ilang minuto pa lang ang lumipas mula nang umalis sina Liam at Noah, nakabalik na agad sila. I lifted my head as I heard a grunt coming from a familiar voice. Hawak-hawak nilang dalawa si Dwein sa magkabilang braso. Nanlaki ang mata ko. Nakuha nga talaga nila siya. Her brows were drawn together, trying to pull both of her arms from their grip.
"Dwein," I called.
Mabilis na napalingon siya sa gawi ko. She gasped, looking so shock and confused at the same time. Her lips parted as her eyes went to my leg. Gulat, takot, pangamba, at pagtataka ang halo-halo niyang reaksyon.
"What's happening?" she mouthed.
Biglang lumapit sa kaniya si Danyl at nagsalita. "We offered Celeste a chance to be interviewed, to tell the whole world her point of view, to show them who she really is—"
"He's mentally ill, Dwein," I cut him off. "He kidnapped me, shot me in the leg, and kept telling me that this would never happen if I just play fool and pretend that he's not behind of all of these."
Lalong nangunot ang noo ni Dwein sa sinabi ko. Danyl gazed at me with a serious look in his eyes. It was a threatening look. Noah and Liam dragged Dwein towards my direction and aggressively threw her beside me. Halos mapahiga siya sa sahig.
"Fuck you!" Dwein groaned as she sat up.
Amara gave her a hard slap on the cheek. "Hindi ko gusto ang tabas ng dila nito."
Nag-aalalang tiningnan ko ang mukha ni Dwein. She was wincing and caressing her cheek. She looked at me with the same amount of worry. Sabay kaming napatingin kay Danyl nang marinig ang pagkasa ng baril, para bang nagbabanta. Dwein sat properly and shut her mouth.
