The bustling streets of New York City hummed with life as people hurriedly passed by, consumed in their own worlds.

Amongst the sea of faces, it was as if I was the only one taking the moment without being caught up in plans of other ones. As I walked down the crowded sidewalk, my attention was suddenly drawn to the person I had traveled here for all along.

My face lit up into a smile as I saw Taylor Swift gracefully navigating through the spaces between people, with her head down and hat over it to hide it.

Nevertheless, I would recognize her anywhere.

Her presence seemed to illuminate the entire street, and I couldn't help but stand still.

She looked up under the hat brim, our eyes met. In that fleeting moment, I could feel something stir deep within me.

Was I the only one recognizing her?

Was I the only one feeling this way about doing so?

It was as if time itself had slowed down, allowing me to fully appreciate the enchanting sight before me.

Taylor smiled, a smile that radiated warmth and kindness, and I found myself drawn to her like a moth to a flame.

We knew each other a little from before, as we had met at a meet and greet a few years ago and I had interviewed her a few times after I got the job. We got along pretty well. I could just go up to her, couldn't I?

Ignoring the bodyguards, I approached her with my heart racing in anticipation. "Hey ma'am, back off-" One of her bodyguards told me, and raised his hand.

A few eyes turned to us, and I was about to excuse myself when Taylor turned to face him. "It's okay, I know her."

Turning around again, she raised her head so I could fully see her. Her light blue eyes met mine as she spoke. "Y/n l/n, wasn't it?" She asked me with the smile still on her face, and I couldn't help but light up.

"Yes, it is." I nodded, "And I think we all know your name."

She rolled her eyes playfully, and snorted. "Excuse me, but I just have to say you look so beautiful." I told her, not being able to keep it in.

Taylor's smile widened, and she extended her hand towards me.

"Thank you." She replied, her voice soft and melodic. I took her hand in mine, the thought sending a warmth through me that made me realize what was happening.

I was falling, falling deeply in love with her.

But it could never be... As we stood there on the busy street corner, our hands intertwined between us.

A billboard over her head caught my eye, and looking up I was met with the album cover of her latest release, Midnights.

She looked at me puzzled, before letting her hand go and turning around as well. "Wow." She sighed, and giggled slightly when she looked over at me. With that, we got lost in conversation regardless of the chaos around us.

We entered the cafe we were standing randomly outside of, and talked about everything and nothing. It wasn't like an interview, but a proper conversation.

I forgot about who she was outside of the cafe, only caught up in the woman in front of me. Her small habits of saying 'um' and peeking down at her nail polish when she was deep in thought was adorable to me.

Eventually, I slid my hand into my bag and picked up my phone to check the time.

It was 12:09AM.

"It's late." I announced quietly.

"Well, they call this the city that never sleeps." Taylors bodyguard told me, standing next to our seats leaning against the wall.

He sounded and looked tired, I realized as I placed my phone back down into my bag. "I'm sorry, I bet you have something to do and..." I told them both and stood up from the seat.

I never wanted the moment to end. I wanted to freeze time, to savor every precious second with Taylor by my side like she was now.

But when I picked up my things and was about to go, it was as if Taylor sensed my thoughts. She stood up, and softly grabbed my arm making me turn around.

I nearly spun in the air, suddenly finding myself standing closer to her than I could ever have dreamed of. Even in my wildest dreams.

Taylor leaned in closer, her eyes sparkling with an unspoken invitation. "Earlier tonight, when you told me I looked beautiful, I think I forgot to add three truthful words back." She told me, only loud enough for me to hear.

"What?" I breathed.

"So do you." She told me, and as my eyes flickered between her eyes and lips trying to figure out if this was real, she leaned in slightly closer. I leaned in too, finally closing the

distance between us until our lips met in a tender, tentative kiss.

I could hear her bodyguard say something faintly from the background, but it was as if all I could hear was my heartbeat.

It was a moment of pure magic.

Our hearts racing in unison, I knew that this was only the beginning.
