ADHD sucks, almost as much as my uncle

"Wait- what? I-I got distracted..." Chiron chuckled and repeated.

"You shall go on a quest, if Perceus accepts." I hate it when people say his full name; it's CREEPY! Percy spoke up again, glancing nervously at me.

"Um, sir. You haven't told me what it is yet." I folded my hands in my lap, so i wouldn't pick at my face or the necklace. Chiron's face twisted as i felt Percy move his chair up, clearly trying to focus as well. That's the thing with our ADHD; it's unbelievably hard to focus.

"Well, that's the hard part; the details." Thunder rumbled across the camp, and i looked behind me, dark storm clouds were rolling in. It appeared as if the sky and sea were boiling together, weird. Percy must have been staring at the beach too.

"Poseidon and Zeus... They're fighting over something valuable, something that was stolen. Aren't they?" I turned back around, and Percy's eyebrows were knitted together; clearly thinking. Chiron looked shocked, as did Grover; it even caused him to momentarily stop chewing on the can.

"How did you know that?" I was just as confused about how Percy got that. I understand what's happening now, but how did he get that from just staring at the water. Clearly, we could tell who the smarter twin is. Percy's face turned red, and i could tell he was nervous. He licked his lips and looked at me; i nodded for him to continue.

"The weather since Christmas has been weird, like the sea and the sky are fighting. Then I talked to Annabeth, and she'd overheard something about a theft. And... I've also been having these dreams. " I looked at him as he played with the hem of his shirt, clearly, he was nervous.

"I KNEW IT!" Grover stood up, scaring me, so i fell into Percy, but he wasn't as good of a support beam as i thought. We toppled onto the floor and i hit my head on the table.

"Fudge!" I shouted, looking around for my arm so I could lift it up.

"HUSH SAYTR!" Chiron pushed himself up out of his wheelchair a little, but went back in. I stood up, clutching my head, and helped Percy up. We sat back down and i brushed off my shorts, i forgot to change out of them last night.

"BUT IT'S THEIR QUEST! It must be!" Chiron gave him the meanest look I've ever seen, and i sunk down in my chair a little, again.

"Only the Oracle can determine. Nevertheless, Percy, you are correct. Your father and Zeus are having their worst quarrel in centuries. They are fighting over something valuable that was stolen. To be precise; a lightning bolt." I laughed and quickly covered my mouth after Chiron gave Percy and i a look. Percy had also laughed; just not as loud as me.

"Do not take this lightly. I'm not talking about some tinfoil-covered zigzag you'd see in the second-grade play. I'm talking about a two-foot-long cylinder of high-grade celestial bronze, capped on both ends with God-level explosives." I suddenly felt terrible for laughing, Please Zeus, once you find it; please don't zap me. I silently prayed, hoping he didn't take offense to it. Chiron explained what it was; but to be honest- i didn't listen. OKAY! Yeah, i should've, but it was so boring.

"And it's missing?" Percy asked, and Chiron nodded with a small shrug.

"Stolen." I leaned forward in my chair- this was getting interesting.

"By who?" I asked and Chiron corrected me immediately.

"By Whom." Ugh, how did Percy put up with him for so long? "And by you two." I looked at Percy and we both stared at each other.

"I didn't steal it!" Chiron interrupted us quickly so it wouldn't lead to us flooding the big house. Because, honestly, with Percy's, what's the word? Persistence? I guess, and my solid anger issues; we would definitely flood the big house. Chiron held up a hand.

"At least, that's what Zeus thinks. During the winter solstice, at the last council of gods, Zeus and Poseidon had an argument. The usual nonsense 'Mother Rhea always liked you best,' 'Air disasters are always more spectacular than sea disasters', et cetera. Afterward, Zeus realized his bolt was missing, taken from the throne room under his very nose. He immediately blamed Poseidon-" I couldn't help but interrupt. Welcome to life as a kid with ADHD!

"But Zeus knows we weren't at camp yet! And besides- if he blamed Poseidon, then take it up with him! I didn't take it, and Percy doesn't have the brains to!" Percy looked slightly hurt but Chiron spoke up.

"As i was saying, child, a god cannot take another god's symbol of power directly- that is forbidden by the most ancient of divine laws. But Zeus believes your father convinced a human hero to take it." This time Percy interrupted.

"But we didn't-" Chiron clenched his jaw and corrected his behavior before he spoke up again.

"Patience and listen, children! Zeus has good reason to be suspicious. The forges of the Cyclopes are under the ocean, which gives Poseidon some influence over the makers of his brother's lightning. Zeus believes Poseidon has taken the master bolt and is now secretly having the Cyclopes build an arsenal of illegal copies, which might be used to topple Zeus from his throne. The only thing Zeus wasn't sure about was which hero Poseidon used to steal the bolt. Now Poseidon has openly claimed you as his children. You both were in New York over the winter holidays. You could easily have snuck into Olympus. Zeus believes he has found his thieves." I clenched my jaw. What a great uncle i have!

"I've never been to Olympus!" Percy and I said at the same time, i glanced at him and back at Chiron.

"Zeus is crazy, man." I sat back in my seat and heard thunder down in the valley, Grover looked up at the sky, terrified. Chiron put a finger to his lips.

"Er, Caspian... We don't use the C word to describe the lord of the sky." Grover smiled shyly.

"Perhaps paranoid. Then again, Poseidon has tried to unseat Zeus before. I believe that was question thirty-eight on your final exam, Percy." He looked at Percy and i wondered if Percy could even remember the day of the week; let alone what question thirty-eight was on a test. I couldn't see why people thought Percy and i would steal something. The only thing i ever stole was a bag of flaming hot Cheetos from my school's cafeteria when i was 10. Chiron was staring at Percy, for what i assumed was an answer to his question. I looked down at my necklace and swung it around. On the back it said something in Greek; how had i not noticed this before? Επιστροφή στον ωκεανό. Excuse me, what does that mean? I looked again and something in the back of my head translated it to Return to the ocean.

"...Caspian Jackson would be the first to feel Zeus' wrath." I looked up when i heard my name and realized i had zoned out. I mentally cursed at myself and looked at Chiron; pretending i heard everything. I understood he was warning Percy and I that we would die if we didn't get Zeus' lightning bolt back.

"Cool." I nodded as Chiron facepalmed. It had started raining on half-blood hill. I remember Annabeth teaching me that it doesn't rain here unless they want it to. We had brought this storm to camp; and i will make it leave. I stood up and looked at Percy.
