*Clarity's POV*

The first thing I saw when I woke up was those familiar brown eyes. The eyes that belonged to my attacker. Immediately I scrambled up and out of view. A bolt of pain at my fast, sudden movement sparked within me. Gritting my teeth I slowly eased myself up into a sitting position. Obviously hearing my pain my mate reached out to assist me, his hand stretching out to me. Frightened I cringed back, this was the man that caused my injury, why would I need his help? That's when a little voice in my head popped up

But's he's out mate! He tried to direct himself elsewhere but it was too late. You can't blame him, he already blames himself and his wolf is in despair. Trust me we've talked, he was the one who stayed with you and helped you recover. Justified Sophie my wolf.

Movement in my side vision peaked my attention, my gorgeous well-built mate was moving away from me his face locked in a frown. Feeling his pain through the bond I wanted to comfort him so I opened my mouth "What am I doing here? How am I even alive? Where is my friend? God is she okay? Please tell me she's alive!" I rambled on, my mind trying to comprehend everything at once. At my voice my mysterious mate looked up, joy on his face "Your friend is fine. You're in my room and this is my father's house. You're alive because you're my mate and you were healed by the best doctors at our disposal." My mate answered, gazing intently at me on the last one.

Shocked I froze "Well if you're my mate why did you fight me? Who even are you? I don't even know your name?" I yelled, finding my voice. "Look I need to leave here. You can come and we can return to my friends just please help me!" I begged. Guilt crossed his face "Look I'm sorry I can't let you leave. No matters how much it pains me you are to remain here as is your friend. My identity is not important right now. Now please don't ask to leave again!" He pleaded. Seeing his expression I knew I had to do it the hard way "Okay I suppose it won't be that bad staying with you. I mean you are my dashing mate!" I answered, fluttering my eyelashes for effect. Hearing my sweet voice and flirtatious air his eyes softened and he smiled "That's right. Look sweetie I have to go shower now but I'll be right back. Don't leave!" he pointed, reluctantly pulling away. Nodding I whimpered "It's not like I can!" I motioned at my bandaged side. Seeming convinced he turned and entered his bathroom. Waiting for the sound of the shower head to start, I managed to weakly get up and slowly make my way to the door. On a time limit I moved as fast as I was allowed. Thankfully the door didn't creak so I swung it open and strutted down the hallway, acting as If I was supposed to be there.

Heading to the lower levels, which is where I assumed the dungeons would be, I didn't encounter anyone. However my luck didn't hold as just as I reached the bottom of the stairs I came face to face with a very handsome man. "What is a charming young girl doing wandering the halls alone? Wait...aren't you the general's sons mate?" He questioned, making the connections. Wasting no time I reached up, as if to put a hand on his shoulder, and with all my might I shoved him aside before bolting. I thought I was clear of danger until I felt large arms catch my waist "Hey missy what are you doing hmm? Trying to escape? Now I'm going to take you downstairs to my commander, who let me say won't be very happy, so be good!" He scolded. Knowing I was too weak to put up a fight I allowed him to drag me with him. As soon as I smelt it I knew where we were heading. Smiling involuntarily I turned to my captor "You know I can walk right! Oh and just a tip, It would be a bit more dramatic If you like pointed a gun at my head you know. You are supposed to be a freak ninja right?" I told him. Seeing his confused look I carried on "Geez you should really get out more! Like watch movies, do human things. I bet you don't even have a girlfriend. I mean your hot and everything but you have zero humor! Now would you put me down?!" I protested, kicking my legs. Still pondering my words he let me down "thank you! Who knew hot guts were so dumb nowadays!" I complained, walking downwards towards where I hoped I would find my friend.

We soon arrived at the top of a staircase. Sadly my guard hadn't produced a gun or anything but I was fine with that too. I heard voices echo up to me and I sped up. When I entered I wasn't surprised to find Carter. I mean ever since I'd heard about Elizabeth's so called brother I knew he was bad news. Now here he was, holding me and my best friend prisoner, which only confirmed my suspicions. There was another guy present which I guessed was the general. The gruff general seemed almost familiar and that's when I caught on. The guard words from earlier repeated over and over "Wait...aren't you the generals sons mate?" That's why I recognized him, he's was my mate's father. Staring head on at Carter I didn't see Elizabeth at first but when he turned I caught a glimpse of her black locks. Forgetting my dire situation I immediately rushed forward but was stopped by Carter outstretched arm which barred my route. "Whoa there girly! Where are you going in such a rush? Can't you see I'm in a conversation with my dear sister! Now seeing as you interrupted me I want to know why you're out of you room?!" He asked, raising an eyebrow at my quiet guard. "Sir I found her roaming the halls, heading in this directions so it's seems!" He reported. Carter nodded with a look that almost appeared bored. Gesturing widely he ordered "Guards put her in the cell next to my sister!' He called. Immediately I felt myself grabbed at all different angles and thrown carelessly into a cell. The cell walls were made of stereotypical bars on every side and so they meant I could see my best friend. Curled up on her side she looked broken, not physically but emotionally. Straining to reach her I called out to her. There was no reply however, it was like she was conscious and awake but her mind had closed down on her. Whatever Carter had told her, it had destroyed her. "You psychopath, look what you done to Elizabeth! If I ever get my hands on you I'll kill you. "I hissed out, fury and rage the only emotions I could feel. Carter's expression didn't change by my words, in fact all he did was laugh at me. This infuriated me more but I held my tongue, desperate for them to leave us alone in peace. However they didn't make a move to leave and my day just got worse, but the real topper to the cake was my mate's grand entrance. It was unexpected and believe me I'm hard to surprise. The door was thrown open at a speed that would make your eyes blur and in charged my drenched but furious mate. "What have you done to her? Where is she?" He broke off from his rant quickly though when he saw me. "You" he stalked forward "You left me and tried to run. Didn't you care at all?" He yelled. Surprised at his anger I shot back "Well you were the one who tried to stop me from seeing my best friend and you were the one who refused to leave!" I retorted. I expected some reaction for my mate but he just stood there speechless. Instead Carter started clapping "Oh my friend haven't you learnt, you can't keep these two apart else they go all ninja on you!" He motioned at us. "But good on you for choosing to stay here!" He complimented. I stood motionless as I took in his words. Just the fact that the he was smiling during all this made him a monster but to say those things like he was joking was unbelievable. He wasn't normal "Now I hate to ruin a good drama but I need to arrange some killings! Come on lover boy!" He yelled back as he turned towards the door. With Carter gone I was left face to face with my mate. I watched him but remained silent. His eyes screamed a million different emotions at me but he didn't say anything. Abruptly he turned on his heels to the door but stopped midway, hesitating briefly before he spun around "My name is Drake." He told me, his tone dead. Then without another sound he walked out, leaving me in shock.
