"You guys do remember that I have to submit the assignments before the holidays, right?"
You rested your palms over your hip and stood in front of them, only to see their amused expression or smirking face.
"Jake, stop looking at me like that."
He leaned back, placing his arms over the headrest of the couch and tilted his head, "I can arrange home tutorials for you so that you don't have to go to university."
"Then just know that I would be running away to Wonyoung to stay with her."
"Calm down, sweetheart." Jay hugged you from behind and kissed your cheek. A huff leaving your lips.
You turned around in Jay's arms, crossing your arms over your chest with a determined look. "I'm serious, Jay. I have to finish this assignment with Wonyoung. It's due right after the holidays, and if I don't do it now, I'll regret it later."
Sunghoon, who had been quietly watching from the kitchen, spoke up. "Why do you have to go to her place? Cant you two just complete it in university after your classes?"
Well, yeah...we are going to do that in that way.
"I could also ask her to come here, but you guys ain't allowing others, and she has all the research materials at her house," you explained, glancing at each of the boys. "Besides, it's not like I'll be gone forever—just a few hours!"
"Still not a good idea," Heeseung said, sitting up straighter from where he was lounging on the armrest of the couch. "It's late, and it's not safe for you to go alone. What if something happens?"
You sighed, running a hand through your hair in frustration. "I appreciate your concern, but I'll be fine. I'll text you when I get there, call if anything happens, and I'll be back before it's too late. Promise."
"No way," Sunoo chimed in with a frown. "You're too precious to let out of our sight."
"That's exactly the problem!" you exclaimed. "I can't focus here with all of you hovering over me all the time."
"Sweetheart, you're not going anywhere without one of us," Jay said firmly, his arms still wrapped protectively around your waist.
Jungwon chuckled from his spot on the couch. "Or you could just stay here and let us help you. We're smarter than we look, you know."
You gave him a pointed look. "Jungwon, please, not even one of you has any idea of subjects related to mine."
"Okay, fair," he admitted with a shrug, "but I'm good at moral support!"
Rolling your eyes, you turned back to Heeseung. "Please, Heeseung. I'll only be gone for a little while. Wonyoung's house isn't too far, and I'll come back as soon as we're done."
After a moment of silence, Heeseung exchanged a look with Jay. The older boy sighed, clearly not thrilled about the idea, but finally nodded. "Fine. But you're not going alone. Either Jay or I will drop you off and pick you up."
"Thank you!" you exclaimed, relief flooding your voice. "I'll make sure to text you guys every step of the way."
"Text and call," Sunghoon added sternly.
"And don't stay too long," Ni-ki muttered, arms crossed as he frowned.
"Got it," you said with a grin, grabbing your bag. "Now, can I go without feeling like I'm sneaking out of a fortress?"
Jay pressed a kiss to your forehead and smiled. "Go on, but you better stick to your promises. Don't make us regret letting you go."
"I won't!" you called as you headed for the door, feeling victorious for finally winning the argument. But deep down, you knew they'd all still be anxiously waiting for you to come back.
