The sun was warm, the breeze gentle, and the laughter of your friends filled the university garden as you ran across the soft grass, barely dodging Taehyun's attempt to catch you.

"Too slow!" you teased, sticking your tongue out at him as you quickly ducked behind Wonyoung, using her as a shield.

"Hey! Don't drag me into this," Wonyoung huffed, but she was grinning as she stepped aside, leaving you exposed to the attack.

Before you could react, an arm suddenly wrapped around your waist.

"Gotcha," Beomgyu whispered near your ear, his breath fanning against your skin.

You yelped, laughing as he spun you around before finally letting go.

"You're such a cheater," you pouted, pushing his shoulder.

"Not my fault you were distracted," he grinned, eyes twinkling as he lingered a bit too close.

From the side, Taehyun and Wonyoung exchanged a knowing glance before Wonyoung smirked.

"Aww, Gyu, you're really getting bold these days," she teased.

Taehyun chuckled. "Yeah, don't you think you're holding onto Ella a little too long?"

Beomgyu's ears flushed red, and he immediately pulled back, clearing his throat. "I-I was just playing the game!"

You rolled your eyes with a small laugh. "You guys are so dramatic. Leave him alone."

But before you could say anything else, a sharp feeling of being watched prickled at the back of your neck.

Unbeknownst to you, seven pairs of eyes were locked onto you from two black cars parked a short distance away.

Inside, your boys sat in simmering silence, their expressions darkening every time Beomgyu's hands lingered on you.

"Why is his hand still on her?" Sunghoon muttered, his fingers tapping impatiently against his thigh.

"He's laughing a bit too much," Jay added, voice tight.

"That game is fucking stupid," Jake grumbled, his jaw clenching when Beomgyu grabbed your wrist again.

Sunoo exhaled sharply. "I swear, if he stares at her like that one more time—"

Niki, who had been silently fuming, finally snapped. "Just say the word, and I'll go drag her away right now."

Jungwon, ever the rational one, closed his eyes for a moment before speaking, his voice eerily calm. "Not yet. Let's see how far this goes first."

But Heeseung?

He wasn't speaking at all.

He was simply watching.

Watching Beomgyu with cold, unblinking eyes, his fingers tightening into a fist every time the boy got too close.

And
if looks could kill...

Beomgyu wouldn't have made it out of that garden.

As the game finally ended, Wonyoung stretched her arms with a satisfied sigh. "Alright, I'm starving. Let's go get something to eat before I go back home."

Taehyun nodded, already pulling out his phone. "Yeah, let's go. You coming with us, Ella?"

You gave them a thumbs-up. "I'm good. I'll catch up later!"

They waved and left, but Beomgyu lingered behind.

You turned to him, tilting your head. "What happened?"
