Jay loosened his tie as he leaned back against the leather seat of the car, exhaling in exhaustion. The meeting had been long and tedious, but at least it was over. Beside him, Jungwon sat with his phone in hand, scrolling through messages.

"Heeseung-hyung said he'll be late," Jungwon muttered, his brows furrowing slightly. "Something about finishing up some business at the office."

"Sunoo is with Ella, right?"

Jungwon nodded, lifting his phone up to show him the new lockscreen which was you, wrapping your arms around his neck from behind and pinching his cheek with two of you laughing cheekily.

"Isn't this cute, hyung?"

Jay hummed in response, ruffling his hair with a smile and glanced out the tinted windows. The city lights blurred past as the driver maneuvered through the streets. It was a quiet night—too quiet.

Jungwon suddenly straightened up, eyes narrowing at the rearview mirror. "Hyung... I think we're being followed."

Jay tensed, subtly glancing over his shoulder

Jay tensed, subtly glancing over his shoulder. Sure enough, a black SUV had been tailing them for a while, maintaining a steady distance but never overtaking them. His gut twisted.

"Driver," Jay called out calmly. "Take the next right."

The driver nodded, turning onto a smaller road. The SUV followed.

Jungwon's grip on his phone tightened. "Shit. They're definitely after us."

Before Jay could respond, the unmistakable sound of gunfire shattered the tension. Bullets struck the back of their car, the glass cracking from the impact.

"Get down!" Jay yelled, grabbing Jungwon and shoving him low just as the driver swerved violently to avoid the gunfire.

The tires screeched as the car lurched forward. Another round of shots was fired, one bullet narrowly missing Jay's head as it embedded into the dashboard.

"We need to get out of here," Jungwon gritted out, pulling out a gun from beneath his jacket. Jay did the same from the leather straps of the seat, his expression darkening.

The driver tried to speed up, but the SUV rammed into them from behind, causing the car to jerk forward.

Jay's patience snapped. "Jungwon, get ready."

Without hesitation, Jungwon lowered the window, aiming his gun. The moment the SUV attempted to overtake them, he fired—hitting the front tire. The vehicle swerved, but the attackers weren't backing down. More shots came, forcing Jay and Jungwon to duck for cover.

Then, a loud explosion—one of the tires of their own car had been hit. The driver lost control, the car spinning wildly before crashing into the side of an empty street.

Jay groaned, shaking off the impact as he turned to Jungwon. "You okay?"

Jungwon coughed but nodded. "Yeah."
