You were sitting on the living room couch, scrolling through your phone when the sound of shuffling feet caught your attention. Looking up, you saw Jungwon, Niki, and Sunoo standing in the doorway, their arms crossed and faces twisted into exaggerated pouts. For a moment, they didn't say anything, just stared at you like you had committed some unforgivable crime.
"Uh... what's with the looks? Did I do something wrong?" you asked, confused by their behavior.
Jungwon huffed dramatically, crossing his arms tighter. "You tell us, Ella. When's the last time you hung out with us?"
"Yeah," Niki chimed in, flopping down onto the carpet with a loud sigh. "You're always with the hyungs. You don't even notice us anymore!"
Sunoo added a theatrical clutch to his chest, his voice dripping with mock sorrow. "We've been so neglected. Do you even love us anymore?"
You laughed nervously, trying to diffuse the sudden tension. "What are you talking about? Of course, I love you guys!"
"Really?" Jungwon narrowed his eyes. "Then why are you always with Heeseung hyung and Jay hyung? We're here too, you know."
"I feel abandoned," Niki groaned, dramatically rolling onto his back. "My heart is in pieces."
Sunoo sat beside him, nodding in solemn agreement. "You're going to regret this when we're too sad to talk to you anymore."
You couldn't help but laugh at their over-the-top antics, but there was a twinge of guilt beneath your amusement. They looked so serious despite their dramatics.
"Alright, that's too much drama! I get it. You guys feel left out," you said, holding up your hands in surrender. "I'm sorry, okay? How about we do something together right now? Just the four of us."
Jungwon's face lit up instantly. "Really? You mean it?"
"I mean it," you said with a smile. "What do you want to do?"
"Let's go for a night walk outside the mansion!" Niki said, jumping up from the floor. "It's been a while since we've done that."
Sunoo grinned, his eyes sparkling. "Ooh, and we can talk, just us. Hyungs won't scold you for taking you out because they will be back tomorrow morning.."
You nodded, standing up. "Alright then, let's grab some jackets and head out."
November cold air would definitely make you sick because of your early classes.
The air outside was cool and crisp as the four of you walked along the quiet path surrounding the mansion. The stars above sparkled brightly, and the soft chirping of crickets filled the silence. The atmosphere felt calm and familiar, like a long-forgotten tradition being revived.
Jungwon walked beside you, his steps matching yours. "Ella, you really mean a lot to us," he said softly, his voice carrying an unusual seriousness. "You can trust me with anything."
"Yeah," Sunoo added, glancing over at you with a small smile. "You're like the glue that holds us all together. I guess we got jealous seeing you with the hyungs all the time."
Niki, walking a few steps ahead, stopped to look back at you. His face was soft, his usual teasing demeanor replaced by sincerity. "It's just... we don't want to lose moments like this. You're important to us, Noona. Promise us you won't forget us ever."
You stopped walking, turning to face them fully. "Guys," you said, your voice firm but kind. "I promise. I could never forget you guys or these memories. You mean so much to me, and I'll make sure to spend more time with you, okay?"
Jungwon smiled shyly, his eyes lighting up with relief. Sunoo nodded happily, and Niki's face broke into a wide grin before he ran up to you and threw his arms around you in a sudden, tight hug.
