The last day of university before the vacation was filled with energy and excitement. The halls buzzed with students exchanging plans, their laughter echoing through the corridors. You couldn't help but feel the joy in the air as you grabbed your phone and shot off a quick text to your boys:
"I'm going somewhere with my friends today. You guys can't say no. And if you even think about following me, I'll call my parents and tell them some people are disturbing me and need to be stopped. Try me."
You hit send with a smirk, knowing they'd see the playful threat for what it was. Minutes passed, and while the message was read almost instantly, none of them replied. Not even a single emoji. You huffed in frustration, staring at the screen that only showed a mocking "Seen."
"Let them sulk," you muttered, sliding your phone into your pocket as Wonyoung bounded up to you with her usual radiant energy.
"Ready to go?" she asked, a sparkle in her eyes.
"Absolutely. Let's get Taehyun and Beomgyu and make this day unforgettable."
The four of you met outside the campus gates and decided to head straight to the biggest mall in the city. The crisp winter air was invigorating as you all joked and laughed on your way to the subway, your excitement growing with every step.
Once at the mall, you were greeted by a glittering display of Christmas decorations. The massive tree in the center atrium sparkled with fairy lights, its ornaments shimmering in gold and red. A cheerful Santa greeted children nearby, and the festive music playing in the background set the perfect mood.
"We're starting with food!" Beomgyu announced, leading the group towards the food court.
"You just ate an hour ago," Taehyun said, rolling his eyes.
"And now I'm hungry again!" Beomgyu retorted, grinning unapologetically. "Ella, I want you to try a special steak here. Come with me."
"Oooh, I'm gonna love that, Gyu."
After a quick bite, you wandered through the shops, each store more festive than the last. Wonyoung dragged you into a boutique filled with cozy sweaters and scarves, insisting you try on a fluffy red sweater that matched the holiday spirit.
"You look adorable," she declared, snapping a picture before you could protest.
Meanwhile, Taehyun and Beomgyu had disappeared into a gadget store, only to emerge moments later with a mischievous gleam in their eyes.
"What did you two do?" you asked suspiciously.
"Just bought some things." Taehyun said and lifted his bags to show but Beomgyu stepped closer to you.
"This one for you." He handed you a white and red striped paper bag and smiled down at you. His gaze not leaving your face ever once when you grabbed it.
"What's in there?" You tried to open the bag but he stopped you, when he grinned and shook his head.
"Nothing for now," Beomgyu said, his grin widening. "You'll find out on Christmas."
"Thank you. Let's go, I need to buy gifts for you three."
Wonyoung pulled you to her side, "well, I want the prettiest one. You can leave the other two."
The day passed in a blur of laughter and lighthearted banter. You bought gifts for your family and the boys after your friends, carefully hiding the bags from your friends to keep the surprises intact.
As evening approached, you found yourself back in the atrium, admiring the giant Christmas tree with Wonyoung, Beomgyu, and Taehyun standing beside you.
