(lock the FUCK in)
(Dabi's damn smile, why does he have to smile like a stage 4 infected pony)(Y/n POV)
The next day, Aizawa handed me the report with all the details I needed, along with my revamped hero suit.
It was the same design I've had since I first started, but I managed to request some other last-minute things.
It could heat up or cool me down when I needed it, my body always struggles to maintain homeostasis whenever I go all out with my quirk. My suit will give my body temperature some support in keeping it as stable as possible. It was the same colour-changing tech, as well as being nice and flexible. It is a little tighter than I would've liked, though.
I got rid of the turtleneck, I realise now that it was a bit of a burden; it could get snagged on something, so I stuck with a form-fitting, high-neck look. I also asked for a utility belt, where I could keep anything I needed. My retractable cane fit snugly into one of the pockets as well.
I added some boots, which mainly keep my leg as supported as possible, ensuring that the pain won't get to me. I also have painkillers in one of my utility belt pockets. This is a great upgrade! I get to keep knives and other small self-defense weapons on me, too!
I showed my new suit to Shoto, since he wouldn't be able to see me playing hero in it.
"Wow, it's so sleek and new." He says, his eyes sparkling a little bit.
"I know, right? Everything is so handy! The support course did great for a rush job." I smile, admiring my own body in the mirror in my room.
"Ah..." I catch a look at the top of my head, and you can see my roots have grown out a little bit.
"Crap, I won't have time to dye it, will I?" I say sheepishly.
"Hmm? Oh, your roots." Sho notices. "I'm sure it's fine, I think it looks good actually." He compliments.
"Yeah, but... that colour..." I frown. Being associated with him is the worst thing imaginable.
"It's your hair, not his. You make it your own thing. I say let it grow out, then we'll definitely look like twins." Sho smiles at me warmly.
"Yeah...ok," I say, smiling at myself in the mirror. Sho comes up to me and hugs me.
"You're gonna do great, I know you will."
My stomach churns again. I was so engrossed by how cool my new costume was that my emotions got buried for a little bit.
"...Yeah." I hug him back. The guilt has been gnawing away at me for a while now, and the fight hasn't even started.
Now, as for the details of my station. I was to be stationed in the rear guard of what they called Team Edgeshot. I was to be with most of my class, waiting patiently for any orders, on guard. Aizawa informed me that if it weren't for my injuries and my past mission, then they would've definitely had me up front. I tried to negotiate with him, it would be much easier to reach Touya if I were up front, but he was strict about it.
"There's no way. It's too risky, even if you can attack from a distance, that still puts you at too much risk. Just stay in the rear guard with your classmates." He said, a hand on my shoulder.
I sighed. "Alright."
Sho and Katsuki were stationed in Jaku City, with Team Endeavour, meaning we'd be very far away from each other during the entirety of this fight, but that was fine with me. It means I don't have to face them yet, I'm sure I'll be able to reach Endeavour when the time is right.
