Chapter 23

Jessica's POV
I woke up to someone lightly shaking me.

"We're stopping for the night." Daryl's strong accent told me.

I nodded my head and kept my eyes closed.

After about five minutes the door opened again.

"Go away." I groaned.

"You have to wake up and eat." Ricks voice said softly.

"Or I could lay here and waste away." I offered.

"That's not happening." I could hear the irritation in his voice.

"Fine." I mumbled opening my eyes and siting up.

"You always look so pretty when you wake up." He complimented.

"Ya, ya. Whatever." Sleep was still heavy in my voice.

"Daryl got some squirrel, so that's what we're eating." He told me, placing his hands on my lap.

"Oh great. More squirrel." I was so sick of eating that, anything else would be fantastic.

"You'll be okay." He quickly kissed my forehead and walked away.

When I got to the fire, Daryl handed me a bowl of meat, and I sat in between Merle and rick.

"So sugar tits, I found some whiskey on a run, I was just about to share it with everyone. Just wanted to see if you wanted the first shot?" Merle explained.

I looked over and rick and he shook his head. I get why though, I'm a sexual drunk. And when I'm not, I get a little crazy.

"Ya sure." I said, Merle poured some in a cup and handed it to me.

I gulped it back quickly and Merle smiled.

After everyone else who wanted a shot got one, Merle handed the bottle to me.

"I wanna see how drunk you can get." He said laughing.

Why not? I could get away for a little while.

About ten minutes later I was definitely feeling the alcohol. The bottle was gone and Merle put the cap back on it.

"You know rick, you shouldn't worry so much." I hiccuped and he shook his head.

"We should get you to bed." Rick offered, grabbing my hand and pulling me up.

I instantly fell over and rick caught me.

"She's a grown woman, she can stay out here if she wants." Merle argued.

"You know how she gets when she's drunk." Glenn yelled at him.

"That's why I want her to stay." Merle said putting an arm around me.

"Then I'm going to bed. I can't watch what's about to happen." Rick said walking off.

"Oh c'mon baby." I slurred my words and Merle chuckled.

Rick went into the tent and zipped the door shut. Lori rolled her eyes and brought Carl into their tent.

"I need to talk to you." Shane said, yanking me into a standing position.

"Leave her be." Merle warned.

"It's important." He growled, pulling me away.

When we were far enough away I leaned against a tree to keep myself upright.

"Are you and rick back together?" Shane asked annoyed.

"Yeah. But I have a secret." I whispered smiling.

"And what's that?" He asked, crossing his arms.

"I slept with Daryl." I whispered as I laughed.

"Jessica. What the hell?" He demanded.

"I never realized how hot you were." I said, putting my hands on his chest.

"Jessica stop. You're drunk." Shane told me.

"I think you're hot, even when I'm not drunk." I hiccuped as I got really close to his face.

His breathing started to pick up, and his heartbeat was racing.

"Don't you think I'm pretty?" I asked,

"Of course I do." He answered,

"Then kiss me." I whispered smiling.

"Jess. I can't." He replied.

"Did you forget how? Here, I'll teach you." I pressed my lips gently to his.

As I wrapped my arms around his neck, he wrapped his around my waist.

He deepened the kiss and pushed me against a tree.

He looked at me for confirmation and I just kissed him again.

After that he laid me on the ground and kissed me again.

"You're not going to remember this in the morning right?" He asked, unbuckling his pants.

"Probably not." I answered as he pulled mine down.

Use your imagination for the last part. (And yes, they did have sex.)
