Jessica's POV
We drove until it started to get dark, we pulled over about two minutes ago.

I stopped crying hours ago, but my heart still ached.

Not knowing if rick was okay, or Glenn, or carol, or everyone else was killing me inside.

"You hungry?" Shane asked, pulling me from my thoughts.

I shook my head, causing him to sigh.

"Not eating won't bring them back." He said.

I turned to face him and I got angry, "don't tell me what will and will not bring them back. We should be out there searching for them, right bow." I growled.

He handed me a can of beans but I pushed them away.

"Jessica, you need to eat." He pushed the can towards me again.

"I'm not hungry." I answered.

"I don't care, eat." I finally took the can from him.

"Thank you." I whispered.

He just nodded his head and started to eat whatever was in  his can.

The air was starting to get chillier, causing me to shiver slightly.

I tried to hide how cold I was getting, but I was really started to shiver.

"Cold?" He asked.

I shrugged my shoulders.

He took off his jacket and put it over my shoulders.

"Thanks." I mumbled.

We finished eating in silence.

"You should get some sleep. I'll take first watch." He offered.

Shane's POV
Jessica nodded her head and put my jacket on the right way.

It caught me off guard but she laid her head on my lap.

I ran my fingers through her hair, "night Shane." She mumbled in a tired voice.

"Night Jess." I responded, looking out the window.

Her breathing evened out as she fell asleep.

I honestly wasn't trying to pull her away from rick, I was really trying to save her life.

Yes I like Jessica, but she doesn't feel that way about me.

I looked down at her sleeping face and smirked.

... Time lapse... morning...

Jessica's eyes fluttered open, her head was still on my lap but she had cuddled closer during the night.

"Why didn't you wake me up to take watch?" She asked in a tired voice.

"You needed your sleep." I answered.

"Well, um.. Thank you then." She replied, rubbing her eyes.

"No problem." I nodded my head and started up the truck.

She stayed very close to me as I drove, our sides were touching.

She looked out the window, looking around, probably for the rest of our group.

"Do you think we'll find them?" She asked, breaking the silence.

"I don't know. I think eventually we'll run into at least one of them." I told her.

"We should find somewhere to stay. Rather than this truck.. No offense." She explained.

I chuckled, "yeah, we should."

She nodded her head and looked forward again.

"Shane?"

"Yeah?"

"Can I ask  you something?" She pondered.

"Yeah, sure." I replied.

"You like me right? Why?" She asked.

How exactly do I explain this?

I cleared my throat.

"Well, you're very beautiful. And I don't just mean your pretty face neither. You seem to help people a lot, you know. You're all caring and stuff." She looked up at me and smiled.

"Rick doesn't say stuff like that." She mumbled.

"That cause he never needs to. He can just apologize and flash his pearly whites and y'all come running back to him." I told her, clenching my fists on the steering wheel.

She took one of my hands of the steering wheel and held it in hers.

"You shouldn't do that, you can sprain your hand muscles." She explained, not letting go of my hand.

I smiled and nodded my head, "I'll keep a note of that."

It was silent for about ten minutes.

"Shane, pull over." Jessica said quietly.

"Why? What's wrong?" I asked slowing down.

When I took the keys out of the truck I turned towards her.

"Jess what's wrong?" I asked again.

"Nothing." She said simply.

"Then why'd you make me..." but she cut me off.

She crashed her lips to mine, I didn't react at first, but eventually I wrapped my arms around her waist and she put hers around my neck.

She deepened the kiss as she pushed my back against the window.

I smirked, which cause her tongue entrance to my mouth.

Our tongues had a little war until we both pulled away to breathe.

"Are you okay?" I asked, still a little stunned.

"Yeah. I'm fine." She put her lips back on mine, but more gentle this time.

We moved in sync, my hands explored her waist as I moved my way down to her belt.

She allowed me to unclip her belt, and I allowed her to unbutton my shirt.

She scooted us down until I was laying on the seats, with her legs on either side of me.

She took of her shirt and I smiled.

Then she slid off my shirt and undid my belt.

"Are you sure?" I asked, looking up into her eyes.

"I'm sure." She whispered.

I smiled again as she pressed her body against mine.
