'(Y/N) POV'

"Mommy, where's daddy?" My precious little 5 year old daughter Riley, questions taking a sip from the cup of pineapple juice. I sigh shaking my head as sadness comes over me thinking about him.

"Baby he's touring around the world making people very happy!" I explain to her with the most artificial voice I could muster.

Sadness washes over her beautiful brown eyes.

"You told me that last time I asked too." Riley remarks heaving a sigh continuing to pick at her chicken and broccoli pasta.

I suddenly feel guilty, I mean I'm not lying. It's true, Shawn is on a tour around the world doing what he loves. I'm not trying to be selfish but, Shawn does spend more time on the road then with his wife and daughter in Los Angeles.

The days he comes home are marvelous. Riley plays and laughs at his corny jokes and riddles. I'm ecstatic whenever he's around.

The last time he was home for break, Riley was so happy. Shawn and her playing and laughing together. Riley always cracking up at his jokes that he repeats. She really missed him and I could tell he missed her dearly too. And when it was time for Riley to go to bed, Shawn would tuck her in and read her favorite Disney princess book, to make her fall asleep. Always halfway through the book her eyes fell heavy and her breathing got slower, he planted a kiss on her forehead whispering in her ear he loves her. Then when he went to our room, I got to have my fun.

The day after his first day home, we go everywhere. We baked cookies at home, went to the park to let Riley meet some new friends getting some fresh air into her system. Usually she's at home glued to the tv screen watching all of the Disney movies over again.

After the park we go out to eat. When we finish dining we go to the movies catching up on what we missed. I believe we watched the movie Pan, although I think I was the only paying attention to the film. Shawn and Riley were laughing whilst throwing popcorn at each other. After finishing the busy day, the family's beat. We drive home to our beautiful house knocking out on the couch.

That reminded me I forgot Shawn called me earlier on today saying how much fun he was having. I responded saying I missed him back and how much I love him. He repeated my words saying he missed the both of us. Shortly after some more talking he had to go play a show somewhere in England.

I wished him good luck and to have fun. He told me to tell Riley that he loves her, then telling me he loves me seconds later hearing smooching sounds from over the phone. I playfully roll my eyes doing the same. We both hang up and I went on with my day.

I grin at those memories seeing Riley's biggest smiles.

"Hey, mommy helloooo are you there?" Riley playfully questions leaning her body over the table snapping her tiny little fingers at me.

I snap out of my trance, putting my all my focus on her little hands. I shake my head and laugh at her actually being curious if my mind actually drifted away.

"Yes pumpkin, I'm here." I coo pinching her cheeks. She just smiles at me and beginning to drink her juice.

"Eat your vegetables young lady." I scold her, playfully shaking my index finger at her.

"If you eat finish all your veggies, I'll let you have dessert!" I exclaim, my hands going up in the air. Personally I'm excited for dessert too. Besides even if she didn't finish it, I would have still given her a slice of pie. But she didn't need to know that.

Her eyes instantly widened, picking up her fork and shoving the greens into her mouth. I laugh at how much she resembles her dad. Same light brown hair, lazy eyes, same laziness. But I wouldn't be able to live without them.

Soon after we finished our dinner, I was washing the dishes while Riley was cleaning the table.

Occasionally yelling out "Ri you alright in there." Seeing if she was okay.

Her response was always a giggle.
While washing the dishes Riley came up to me hugging my legs.

"Hi Hun, what do you need?" I question my focus still on the dishes.

She doesn't give me a response so I crane my head over to hers small, short body seeing her still in the same position.

She finally looks up at me giving her most innocent look, batting her eyelashes.

"I need my dessert." She says dramatically.

I laughing shaking my head at how demanding she is.

"Alright babe, after I'm done with these." I respond.

After cleaning my hands I wipe them on the Christmas decorated towel hanging off a hook before walking to the refrigerator to get the pie out.

I kick the door close with my knee turning around to put it on the island seeing Riley climbing on her chair with a fork and napkin ready for her.

I cut the pie and put it into her Cinderella plate while getting another plate for my slice.

Giving her the plate while I put the pie back into the fridge. I walk with a plate in my hand sliding next to her seeing her devouring her slice. I mentally grin at how much pie is on her face instead of her mouth. As I am getting ready to eat, the doorbell rings. Riley instantly perks up and I turn my head to check the clock on the oven. 7:39 pm it read.

I guess it's not that late, but we weren't expecting any visitors this evening.

"Stay here and finish your plate okay Ri?" I say.

She nods her head giving me a thumbs up and turning back to her plate.

I get up and walk to the door opening it.

I look up and my dull expression changes into happiness in 0.1 seconds.
Tears brim my eyes as I cover my mouth with my hands muffling the sobs. I'm front of me, my husband stood, with his guitar on his back with 2 suitcases behind him. His smile gets bigger as he steps into the house giving me a tight hug. I instantly hug back melting in his grip.

"Close your mouth babe, you'll catch a fly." He says in my shoulder.

I scoff playfully breaking the hug. "Way to ruin the moment." He smiled cheekily at me giving me a wet kiss on the lips.

Riley must have heard the nosies because she ran to the foyer instantly squealing because her dad was right in front of her.

Shawn turns his body facing her opening his arms as she speed to them jumping on him while he spins her around.

This was the best surprise anyone can get.

They break from the hug as Shawn says " How have you been my Little Princess."
