Day Dreams

Bee -

After several hours of school passed, and I was sitting in English class, I decided to actually pay attention for once... It is the last period of the day after all.

"Okay class." Mr. White says as he stands in front of a board written on with black marker. "Hopefully you have read the board. If you haven't I'll just explain." I roll my eyes. Already regretting my decision to pay attention.

I divert my attention over to the front of the class, and I stared at Colby.

He was laughing and talking with Sam.

I got distracted by the thought of me and Colby ever having an actual conversation...

"Bee? Are you even listening?" Mr. White tells me.

I look towards the front and see all eyes were now on me, including Colby.

"I-uh" I begin " yes?" I say and immediately curse myself for sounding unsure. I must sound like a fucking idiot.

"Really? Then will you please come up here and explain to the class what I was saying the last ten minutes." I scowl at Mr. White, and stand slowly.

Fuck him. I hate this.

As I began the short walk (that felt like forever) to the front I notice Colby following me with his eyes... Well the whole class was but I only noticed him.

I managed to read the title on the board before I turned around and faced the class.

I gulped and began to speak.

"We uh, we are talking about- um school uniforms. Yeah... Uniforms." I thank my body quickly for not passing out.

I look over to Colby who is smiling, and giggling a bit. Not in a mean way, but in an interested, or amused way.

I look to Mr. White. Who smiles and stands.

"Sit down Miss Johnson." I gladly begin to walk towards my seat.

"And try to make it less obvious when your staring at Colby, miss king. We're here to learn... Not daydream."

I sink in my chair, and I can literally feel the red on my cheeks. Humiliation over flows my body.

I look to Colby, and our eyes connect. I bite my lip nervously and give him an apologetic look. He smiles, and Sam slaps his arm softly and starts chuckling.

I don't know what the other kids were thinking... Nor do I even care. But the fact me and Colby are still making eye contact... Makes my whole day.
