"Do you think anyone misses us?" I ask Colby.

"I'm sure. But I don't care." Colby says with with bitterness in his voice.

"How about Sam? Don't you miss him?" I ask.

Colby clenches his jaw and closes his eyes.

"Yeah. I miss him. What about your parents? Do you think they miss you?"

I feel a tear sting at my eye.

"No... They don't, Colby." I say with hesitance in my voice. I'm just not ready to talk about it.

Colby scoots closer to me.

"You don't have to tell me why you left Kansas if your not ready, bee." He says with a new sense of seriousness in his voice... It had a hint of protection in it.

"I really like you." I blurt out, trying to change the subject.

His eyes were watery, and full of so much emotion, that I could quite make out...

"I really like you bee." He says.

I feel my eyes water too.

"Honestly. I wouldn't want to be in this situation with anyone else... We may have to go back to Kansas... But who cares? At least we get to go back together." He tells me.

I can feel anxiety rise in my chest... If I go home... Yes I will have Colby. But what about everything I deal with at home? How do I deal with being abused, and having my moms boyfriends in and out...

"Is everything okay?" He asks.

I was surprised with how concerned he looked.

I start crying really hard.

"Bee!" Colby says into my ear.

He hugs me and tries to comfort me... But my crying continues and the fear continues to build up.

"It's gonna be okay!" He tells me again.

"Colby... I have to tell you something."

Awe so Colby couldn't fix his little problem.. Lol I'm joking.
