My eyes opened and I was on the sidewalk in my brothers arms. "Melanie! Don't scare me like that fat ass!" My brother yelled at me as he held me close. A giggle escaped my lips and  I saw the cute guy run towards us and bend down to my brother.

"Are you okay?? It's not your lucky day. First you bump into me and then a car bumps into you." He said with a straight face. I bite my tongue to hold back my smile.

He probably thinks I'm weird. I got up and everyone looked at me like I was some kind of bionic person. "Aren't you hurt??" Cat asked as she grabbed my hand.

"No, just my foot hurts." I replied.

"Do I need to call 911??" My brother asked me. I shook my head and faked a smile and lied about my pain. "No?! I'm calling anyways." Cat interrupted. I sighed and sat back on the curb of the street.

My brother ran inside my house and Cat ran to go get a phone. The cute guy sat down beside me and stared at the sky. I laid my head in my hands and sighed.

"I know you're lying." He said quietly. I looked up and he was looking at me. I was confused about what he's even talking about.

"What?" I muttered as I looked at him. His eyes met mine and I felt a wave of lust go through my body.

"Your pain... I can tell you're in pain." He replied. I tilted my head in confusion. "How do you know?" I asked.

"People's hands don't tremble like that for no reason. And it's 80 degrees outside so I don't think you would be cold." He replied. It's like he reads minds. I knew I lied about my pain. And so did he?

"They're on their way." Cat said from behind as she walked out her house. I groaned and nodded. "Also, your foot bleeding." He whispered as he bent over to me.

I looked down at my leg and it was bleeding a lot of blood. "Oh... Well that makes since." I giggled. He giggled and shook his head.

I heard sirens in the distance and I saw them turn the corner. Police followed them and stopped by the house. This is going to be a big scene and for a person like me... I don't really like attention.

"It's just sprained. Nothing to be worried about. She will need crutches though." The doctor said to my brother. I rolled my eyes and groaned. "What?" Cat asked.

"I don't want crutches or a cast. That will just drag attention to me at school." I whined. The cute guy looked up from the chair he was sitting in and looked at me. "I can help you with your stuff?...." He suggested. Cat secretly smirked at me and smiled.

I nodded and smiled in agreement to him.

"You don't even know her name!" Cat yelled in protest. He looked at me and rolled her eyes. She started rambling about how he didn't know me and he doesn't know my name. He looked at me and motioned his hands like when people move their hands when someone talks to much. I giggled and shook my head.

The doctor came from behind me and handed me the crutches. "Try them out?" The doctor asked. I nodded and smiled. The crutches were under my arms, so I got off the bed and it's actually harder to talk on them then I thought.

Once we got home, Cat helped me to bed and she decided to spend the night to help me. Since my dad is on a business trip for a few weeks.

The cute guy went home and my brother went to sleep. Cat and I were just watching television and talking. "I really don't feel like going to school tomorrow." I groaned. She smirked and looked at me with a grin on her face.

"You wanna skip?" She suggested. I paused and thought about the question. After thinking, I nodded and smiled.

"Sure." I replied.

Cat nodded and we went to sleep after that.

I woke up, the sun was still down and my leg had a sharp pain. I groaned in pain and tried to scratch at it, but the cast wouldn't let me.

"That's it. Cat! Wake up." I muttered. She didn't wake up and when I threw the pillow at her, her head shot up and she wiped the sleepiness from her eyes. "What?!" She groaned with the sleepiness wrapped around her voice.

"I'm sorry to bother you, but I can't take this cast anymore. Can you take me to the emergency room to get it removed??" I asked. She groaned and got up.

I put on my left shoe and Cat got ready.

Once we got to the emergency room, they took off the cast, but by then it was three in the morning. When I came out, Cat was asleep in the waiting room. I still had my crutches, but I didn't have the stupid cast.

"Come on Cat. Let's go." I said as I poked her with the crutch. She woke up and we headed to the car.

"So.. I saw cute guy looking at you today." She said with a sudden smile. I looked at her and blushed.

"When??" I replied.

"When you were sitting on the curb after you got hit and you had your head in your arms. I came out and saw him looking at you. I kept silent so he wouldn't feel awkward." She replied.

I smiled and shook my head. She parked her car in the drive way and helped me inside.

"I want to thank you for helping me today." I said as I was about to go to sleep.

"Well... Thank you for not hating me and being my first friend out of the whole two years I've been at that school." She replied.

"Goodnight Cat."

"Goodnight Melanie."
