"SO WHAT DO YOU THINK IT MEANT?"

"Do I look like a philosopher?" I countered. "No."

"You don't need to be one in order to understand what it meant, Noelle," Jade returned in a tone of annoyance.

I opened my mouth, intent on refusing, but once I caught sight of the urgency etched upon her features, I sighed. "Maybe it means he still loves you?" I offered, shrugging a shoulder.

Jade uttered a loud sigh. "Well, it doesn't matter, anyway. I don't love him."

"Really?" I quirked an eyebrow, a little incredulous.

"No," she conceded, defeat ebbing off her. "I still do."

"Okay, now back to me," I said, clapping my hands together. "Where do you think I should take him?"

"To hell," she rejoined, her facial expression morphing into a look of irritation. "You know what I want?

"A brain?" I hinted.

"I want Joseph to get down on his knees and beg me to take him back," she growled out, her face twisting into a look of anger.

"And will you?"

It was a small moment before she responded, biting down on her lower lip. "Maybe."

I restrained the tempting desire to roll my eyes. "Quit being so pathetic. Now help me out."

"Take him to a strip club," she said as she drew circles on my duvet.

"Ugh," I muttered, slumping down on my bed.
