THE END – MY CHEMICAL ROMANCE.

▂ ▂ ▂ ▂

THE FIRST THOUGHT THAT entered my mind when I opened my eyes was: what am I doing here?

My curiosity was piqued as I skimmed the bland white walls, confusion roiling within me. Where am I? And then it hit me. I'm in a hospital. But why?

Thinking about the possibilities was enough to give me an impending headache, so I decided altogether to give up on attempting to recollect my memories and just go with the flow. Moving was an incredibly hard task too, as was breathing.

My mouth and throat felt ridiculously dry, and to say that I was dying of thirst was an understatement. I tried to open my mouth, but all that came out was a pathetic whimper. Sighing, I gave up and resolved to close my eyes and rest.

Only ten minutes passed by when the sound of a door creaking open rang through my ears. My eyes flew open, and Kiera's familiar face came into view. Oh finally. She must've realised I was awake though, because the next thing I knew, she was flinging herself at me and embracing me in a bone crushing hug.

"Kiera..." I wheezed out pathetically.

She gasped aloud and pulled back, eyes skimming my features. "I'm so sorry!" she blurted. She bit her lip and we sat in silence for a few moments. Then came the inevitable question. "How are you feeling?"

I rolled my hands into my lap as I struggled to sit upright without wheezing in pain. "It hurts," I whispered, staring down at my hands.

Kiera sighed, placing a hand atop of mine. "I know," she replied with a frown.

"What happened?" I found myself asking. Curiosity swam around in the pit of my stomach as I awaited her response.

Kiera blinked. Then, "you don't remember?"

I shook my head.

"Uhm..." Her brown eyes strayed around the room. "You, uh, got into a car accident."

I stared at her. Really? "I...I dont remember that," I said, chewing on my bottom lip.

"You've been out for two days," Kiera informed me, forcing a smile into her face. "Your ribs are broken, not to mention that you had collapsed lungs."

Explains why I can't breath properly. "Oh," was all I managed to utter. I suddenly didn't want to see how my face looked like.
