"Why are you acting so nice?" I asked Ethan as he opened the door.
"I'm not..." he replied looking away, as he pulled out of the driveway.
"Yes you are..." I said again and he sighed.
"No! I'm not! I'm just... I'm just not trying to hurt you... That's not being nice. That's me not abusing you..." he said looking straight ahead, making no eye contact with me.
"Why aren't you?" I asked and he didn't say anything.
"Hey!" I said again and he looked over at me.
"I like you!" he replied and I saw a truck coming straight for us... Then, I saw nothing.
