Chapter 13

Alyssa's P.O.V

I impatiently played with my fingers as I couldn't help but think about that man. Who was he? What did he want from me? Why did he threaten to find me? I couldn't take it anymore. I had to ask.

"Ashton. Who was that man?" I mumbled, barely audible.

"You don't need to know" He answered, sounding pretty ticked off.

"B-but I need to Ashton, that man. H-he threatened to find me."

"No! He won't find Alyssa, I'll protect you from him. You'll be safe with me"

"But, I-I think he's related to my past." I started panting, It was too stuffy for me to breathe.

"You have to Ashton, you have to." I looked at him and he wouldn't budge.

He stopped the car and got out. I was quiet confused to why he stopped the car. I slowly went out knowing I had to follow him. As I got out he slowly walked over to me, I was still panicking about the man. I looked up to him as he held me tightly against his chest.

"Alyssa, he's your past... And I.. I mean.. The boys and I, are your present." He whispered slowly.

"I love you Alyssa, and I'm never going to let that man come near you."

I was speechless. A-Ashton? He loved me? Did we have a past together? I felt the blood rush through my cheeks. Great. I'm blushing again.. Is this why I feel so free? And happy around him? We had a past? I don't know why.. But I felt tears roll down my cheeks. I was happy, but I was sad at the same time. I love you too Ashton. I'm not really sure if he loves me in that way. I know things are moving pretty fast but it just feels right, you know? I feel like I've known him all my life and I was head over-heels inlove with him. Let's just keep it to ourselves Alyssa. We wouldn't want to embarass ourselves to a guyb who probably loves us like his sister.


Ashton's P.O.V

I pulled out and looked into Alyssa's eyes. I was mesmerized by her baby blue eyes which were a shade darker now, worry in her eyes. I just told her I love her. I really do. But Woah there Ashton, how are you so sure she feels the same way you do? I wanted to hold her again but our grumbling stomachs made us laugh. We were hungry.

By the time we reached home, dinner was ready. And by dinner. I mean McDonalds.

Everybody got the same order cause Calum doesn't like it when he accidentally chooses something we didn't like.
Everyone got: a double cheese burger, no pickles & mustard. Extra cheese. Coke and curly fries.

Dinner went by fast, everyone had a story to tell. Today, Michael met a girl, he seems to really like her a lot and he's thinking of bringing her here one day to meet up.

We all laughed and told cheesy jokes, I noticed Luke though, he looked like he wasn't in the mood. Maybe he's just having a bad day. I'll talk to him about it tomorrow. 

It's 11:30 and everyone's getting ready to sleep. I played Painting Flowers by All Time Low on my phone on loud speaker. I was humming to the song as I took my clothes off and put on some shirts. Hmm.. Come to think of it.. It's kinda hot today. Let's just stay shirtless okay, Ashton? I smiled. Today was an amazing day. I couldn't sleep cause I was thinking about Alyssa, and that necklace.

~Flashback~

I zipped my backpack as I was ready to leave.

"Wait, Ashton.." My mom called out

I turned back to see what she had behind her hands

"Here, give this to the girl you think is the one, only give it to her if you're sure you love her. And make sure you'll love her for a very, very long time." She had a weak smile across her face.

"Thanks, Mom" I gave her a bear hug " I promise I'll give it to the girl I love" i smiled. 

"Okay honey. Promise me you'll take care. My son is finally becoming a man" She said as tears of happiness flowed out of her eyes. 

"I love you mom, take care of my brother and sister okay?"

"I love you too, son." She planted a small kiss on my forehead. I turned around feeling confident.. I'm finally going to accomplish my dreams!

~End of flashback~

I sighed as I looked at the watch. Woah? It's already 1:45?! That was quick. I still didn't feel sleepy. I took my phone out and started tweeting, all night long.

Time passed by real quickly again too. I looked at the time and it was already 3:00am ARGH. WHY AM I STILL AWAKE?! I buried my head into my pillow waiting for me to fall asleep.

Suddenly there was a knock on the door.

"Ashton? Are you awake?" A soft voice echoed through the door. It was Alyssa.

I quickly stood up to open the door "I'm guessing you can't sleep too?"

She pouted her lips and nodded weakly. "Is it okay if I sleep here? It's kinda scary- I mean, Lonely in my room" she asked innocently.

I couldn't help but smile  "Yeah! Sure! Ofcourse" I said excitedly.

I layed down in bed and I motioned her to lie down beside me. She was a couple of inches away from me, but I felt the warmth of her body.

"So, why can't you sleep?" I asked her

"I can't stop thinking about that man, Ashton" she looked at me with fear in her eyes.

"Come here" I told her to come closer to me.

She did as told and we both just cuddled. 

"Everything's going to be alright Alyssa, I'm here for you" I smiled at her.

She just smiled back as she cuddled up to me. I slowly rested my chin on her head as she was secured in my arms. This feels so right. I caressed her hair as she fell into a sleep, our hands entertwined, we fell into a deep, deep sleep.
