I swear I could feel Phil tense right now. He just looked at me. I swallowed uncomfortably. "I-"
"It's fine," Phil cut me off. "I've had a black band since age 16 and I don't know what happened..." He broke off, obviously uncomfortable talking about what happened after.
Tyler looked at him with sympathetic eyes. "I- I'm sorry for asking," he stuttered, while Troye and Melanie both went up to comfort Phil. Connor, Chris, and PJ were huddled in the corner, nervous and unsure of what to do, and Louise was just staring around, like me. Most of our wrists were tinted purple and blue.
Phil cleared his throat. We all turned and looked at him. "The doctor says I can go out in a week."
My eyes lit up and Louise went and hugged Phil. Phil's band was still pitch-black... wait. It could have been my eyes, but I am pretty sure I just saw his band turn the darkest shade of yellow- just for an instant.
He must have noticed too, for he looked at me, and his lips curved just a bit. Phil could finally be happy. Unlike me, who had cuts littered on my wrists and legs. No one - at least I think - knows, for I always wear sweaters and long pants. Well, if Phil's happy, I'm happy.
