Legolas's pov

When I walk into the dining room, I find the three Rangers stuffing their faces with food. I laugh internally at the sight. I cough slightly. They stop eating and look up at me.

"The king is ready." I inform them. I see disappointment fill their eyes. I smile at them. "But don't worry, you can come back to your meals." They wipe their mouths and stand. I lead them out of the room and down the hall.

"Now, Aragorn, explain to him everything you told me." I tell him. He nods.

"Understood." He replies.

"Aleit and Torvaenn just stay with Aragorn and wait till he's finished. I'll be there, and if asks you any questions, answer them, he does not take silence and uncooperative people as lightly as I do." I shoot a glance at Torvaenn. He smiles sheepishly at me. By this point we are at the large wooden doors that leads into the throne room. I look at all three Rangers, studying them closely.

"Ready?" I ask. They nod and I push open the doors and lead them down to my father. He nods at me and then his gaze fixes upon the three Rangers. I can see that he is very curious, based on the look in his eyes. Aragorn bows slightly.

"King Thranduil, I bear some secret knowledge." He tells him. Father motions for the guards to leave, just leaving myself, Aragorn, Aleit and Torvaenn.

"Do tell." My father orders.

"We have brought a creature, known as Gollum. Gandalf the Grey told us the bring him to you." He explains.

"Why?" The king demands.

"Because Gollum holds sacred information. Information regarding the whereabouts of the One Ring." He says. The elvish king strokes his chin, but before he can say something, Aragorn continues. "Gandalf told us that Gollum would be safe here in Mirkwood, in the hands of the King and his son. He said to us that he trusted you and that your guards would be more than capable of keeping the creature safe." Then Aragorn looks deeply into my father's eyes. "And I believe so too." Ada nods and looks at me.

"Legolas, give them a place to stay for the night and give them their supplies back and give them new ones as well." I nod. "I have a lot to think about." He murmurs as I take the Rangers out of the room.
