Glynnii's pov

I finish eating my dinner, not speaking to the Rangers any more. They talk among themselves and occasionally glance at me. The triad seems nice enough. Aragorn appeared genuinely concerned when I mentioned what had happened to Legolas. I stand up and take my plate back to the kitchen. I leave and walk out into the hallway, where I see a figure waiting. He steps towards me.

"Glynn," Aragorn says quietly. "May I see Legolas before we leave?" I look at him, startled.

"Why?" I ask.

"I've grown to like him, and I would like to see him one last time before leaving Mirkwood." He explains to me.

"Yes, as long as Thranduil and the healers allow you too." I tell him. "Are Aleit and Torvaenn attempting to visit as well?" The Ranger sighs and shakes his head.

"Just me." He responds. "The other two aren't terribly fond of him, especially Aleit." We both smile slightly, remembering how Legolas treated the Rangers when they first came to Mirkwood. "They're both preparing for our journey home."

"Well, let me take you to Legolas's quarters." I say before turning and leading him down the long hallways. As we near his quarters, I speak to Aragorn once more.

"He condition is very poor." I whisper to him. "I don't think King Thranduil has left his side, he cares so much for his son." We reach the door and I lean closer to Aragorn, trying to be as quiet as possible. "I will go in first and ask if you may enter." He nods and I knock softly on the large wood entrance.

"Come in." I hear a faint voice call. Silently, I open the door and walk into the prince's living quarters. I see Thranduil knelt beside his son, in the same place he was when I had come earlier. He turns around, his face full of exhaustion.

"Glynn." He greets. I bow slightly.

"My lord, how is Legolas?" I ask. The king turns back to the elvish prince.

"I do not know." He murmurs. "His wound has not got much better, but there was one point where he was awake." He looks at me with wide, clear blue eyes. "He did not open his eyes, but he asked me if you were alright." I take a step back in surprise. I am about to question his more when I realize that Aragorn was still waiting.

"My king, the Ranger Aragorn has requested to come visit your son." I remark. Thranduil furrows his eyebrows.

"Why?" He demands.

"They became good acquaintances during and after interrogation." I explain. He stares at the wall for a few moments.

"Fine, let him in." I nod and rush over to the door. When I open it, Aragorn gazes at me expectantly. I nod and let him come into the dim room. I decide to wait by the door, to let Aragorn have his visit. I watch closely as the Ranger slowly walks towards the bed and then stands at the side of it, looking down at Legolas. The king looks at him.

"Ranger Aragorn," He murmurs. "I must say I wasn't expecting a visit from you." Aragorn nods slowly.

"Yes, my lord, I would expect not, but I have grown to like your son. He is a good elf." He tells Thranduil, who chuckles softly.

"You are not the first to say that." He comments. They stare at Legolas for a few minutes, until Aragorn breaks the silence.

"Aleit and Torvaenn are waiting." He says. "Thank you King Thranduil for letting me visit, and accepting our mission, and accepting us." He glances at Legolas one last time. "And when Legolas gets well, tell me my best regards." The elvish king looks up at him sadly.

"That is if he gets well."
